A Switzerland-based domain hoarder by the name SCE Server Components Europe AG is serving up the domain name "CPUCooler dot com" and 33 variations based on TLD and other parameters, up in a single package. The company deftly created a webpage on the domain with links to popular CPU cooler manufacturers and PC component retailers specializing in cooling products, so their webmasters could check their site out. A representative of a very popular PC components manufacturer who tipped us off with this, says that their company's website was linked by SCE without prior authorization from them.

I wonder how much he would profit from this.

Even better, can one make a living as domain hoarder ?

Most I've ever gotten for a domain was 700 and it was to point360 back in 2005. Company doesn't use the domain these days tho..

Wasn't this a thing 20 years ago?

I mean...

700 dollars lol

I bought one once, genuinely intending to start up a fansite of a game I played, but ended up couldn't be bothered doing all the programming. I ended up selling it to the publisher for 1,000 euros :p
