EVGA Readies Duke's Fully Loaded Package Graphics Card Bundle

I kid about the whole Duke thing but you gotta admit it would have been awesome to have the "Duke approved" 590 package.

Off topic: Strider was an awesome game at the time. I wish Capcom would bring it back in HD.

haha, indeed it would, as well as one on the AMD side of the fence. Though I won't be adding or replacing any GPU's for a while. heh

Yeah, Strider was one of my favorite games and character "back in the day". Still own just about every incarnation of the character, from the classic NES game, to the Sega Genesis, and even Marvel vs Capcom.

Back on topic. COME ON JUNE 14TH! :toast:

I believe eVGA would better serve their customers by concentrating on product development/improvement, rather than gimmicky marketing.

560 nvidia it might be enough but it would get some serious normal human "illegal in most country's" remark from Duke.

Try the same with at least a basic 6950 or 6970 and throw in some goodies to make the deal sweet then it would be worth it.

A dual 6950 or dual cheap 6870 package would also work.

I still can not believe how much I laughed at the Duke preview videos. Would be worth it if the game sucks just for the laughs from his comments.

Hopefully this will set the bar for all the other "great tech concepts" games but horrible and boring to play current and new upcoming games. Yes those that the 5 mins video bores you to death with great graphics and great innovation but boring as hell games "FPS".

marketing runs the world dude, no way around it save for moving to the mountains.

Are you sayin Duke is a gimmick?

Yes, but marketing new and innovative products instead of slapping a decal on an otherwise ordinary, run-of-the-mill card, stuffing it into a garish package with 'extras' (a custom mousepad, belt buckle and artbook!, oh, be still my beating heart!!! although, the included game is okay), and expecting consumers to shovel money into their coffers is, in my opinion, not only short-sighted, but rather disingenuous.

Personally, I prefer to spend money on improved technology rather than the same-old-same-old with some bonus junk thrown in.

However, I am sure there is a segment to which this sort of thing is appealing, it simply does not pique my interest.

I think what we are all trying to say is, Duke wouldn't put his name on anything modest.

If it's not modest, it won't sell in the real world. Imagine if this was a bundle consisting of a GTX 590. The price would then be around $800. Would there be any more takers for it than that tiny demographic that buys GTX 590? No.

ID buy it, id sell my left nut to use the GTX 590 as just a physx card which isnt even supported in DNF as my 6970s give out the amazing ass kicking performance the Duke demands, why because Its go big or go home and no american man will go home after giving up a nut. And fuck it if Physx wouldnt work id demand it work for the DUKE and it would because its Duke Nukem and i dont know where im going with this mailman take over, i need to go blast the hell out of some pigs and save me some strippers.

"This product comes with a 3 year limited warranty. Registration is recommended"

Pass. So how long until all cards have a 1 year warranty?
