Duke Nukem seems to be attracting as much attention from his swarm of male fans as the school uniform-clad strippers from the game. This fandom is building up obscene levels of hype with the various collectors' edition bundles available on the web, on pre-order, that give a variety of Duke Nukem memorabilia along with a copy of Duke Nukem Forever, a game that has been in production for 14 years. Some of the gamers who are going to play the game hadn't even graduated from Fisher Price when the last Duke game came out.

EVGA wants to be one of those to come out with (no pun intended) a bundle of their own, called "Duke's Fully Loaded Package". As a top-tier graphics card vendor, its bundle includes - you guessed it - a graphics card that handles the game well, in this case, a specially-branded GeForce GTX 560 1 GB clocked at 810/1620/4008 MHz (core/CUDA cores/memory), apart from a copy of Duke Nukem Forever (PC), memorabilia that includes "The History, Legacy and Legend of Duke Nukem Forever" artbook, Duke Nukem Forever mousepad, a "radioactive" belt-buckle, and a specially designed package. Those craving for Duke's fully-loaded package (again, no pun intended) from EVGA, can pre-order it from here.

to be fair to Duke, his "package" should include at least a GTX580 (pun intended).

Nice, kind of a half Balls of Steel Edition.

I guess EVGA chose a mid range card so it could be of use to more users without a PSU upgrade but come on, it should have at least been a 560 Ti with a nice size factory overclock..... stock speed is an insult to the duke.

I agree. This should be a flesh colored 590.

Duke is a good way of marketing GTX 560. GTX 590 will be overkill for DNF.

This should be the flaccid Package... Evga is short shafting us with a 560...:roll:

You are thinking logically. Not like Duke. Duke wouldn't use a mid tier card in his rig. He would have 4 590's in SLI overclocked to a billion cooled with alien blood and linked with broken hymens.

He would just use 560's to blow cool air onto the 590's!!:roll::roll:

He would. You won't. Hence you can have a "little bit" of Duke "on you" with the modest GTX 560 bundle.

Disturbing mental images aside... :shadedshu

I also agree with Bta, the card is more than enough for what the game has to offer and will be more accessible to mainstream players with tighter budgets

I think what we are all trying to say is, Duke wouldn't put his name on anything modest.

Theres no argument there, thats not what people are saying. People are saying, go big or go home, it's what Duke does. He brings an Abrams to a knife fight, why? Because he can.

from what I see in the comments, Duke is becoming the new "Chuck Norris"

They should make Duke Nukem Vs. Chuck Norris

Exactly. Hes Duke. The ultimate American. Hes the modern day Paul Bunyan.

Thats only a game G-d could play. No mortal is worth controlling ether of them against each other. When you play DNF you don't control Duke. Duke controls you.

I wouldn't say that, Dukes been forgotten, it was quite the hiatus, but now he's back in action and people remember who the real American badass is.

I understand everyones option about go big or go home. But how much would a 590 retail for? My guess is WELL over $300. now add the game and the grand total of this package would be?!?!?

and please keep in mind that more than 50% of TPU dosnt want to spend more than $300 on a single graphics card, keeping in mind that $200-$250 was not an option for this poll. So the 560 should be a great card to sale along side of DNF. plus no matter how epic this game may or not be would you be willing to pay ~$500 for the graphics card plus the game?

You're not a real American. Hand in your man card upon exit.

Well, we all know the game will run great at max everything 1080p+ on any current generation mid or high range card from either side of the fence, Nvidia or AMD/ATI. Multiplatform development, something I almost always frown upon, but Duke can easily pull it off. Not to mention Gearbox does it very well, better than most, they proved that with Borderlands.

It's nice to see compaies like EVGA jumping on the bandwagon though, hope more do as well, since the game has not claimed sponsorship to either brand. Not that any of that matters, never does, its all money and advertising spin. heh

I kid about the whole Duke thing but you gotta admit it would have been awesome to have the "Duke approved" 590 package.

Off topic: Strider was an awesome game at the time. I wish Capcom would bring it back in HD.

Mailman I frown at you questioning my "american-ness" :shadedshu But I only point out what has been proven true even by the forums that are based upon the latest hardware and software...

eVGA will not try to sale a package that will cripple the end their customer base....

Your only flaw is you are applying normal logic. Not Duke logic.

and because I am not applying Duke logic, which yes i know is all out balls to the wall the bigger the better, I am not american? I have yet to see how this excatally ties together.

Duke logic is American logic. Anything less is French.
