OFFICIAL Fallout 4 (Discussion)

Either that or they will showcase certain things every month, and armor is a future feature.

or DLC ? hehe

or it wasnt finished/complete in the build they demonstrated.

Not even a few seconds or slides of similarly customizable armor? They couldn't put that together for E3 - the biggest stage for them to promote their upcoming product?

Heck, they could have at least commented on it : 'In addition to the multiple armor versions and texture options, we are working on a customize system similar to the weapons we've just shown you. Stay tuned to hear more and view it at our next presentation.'

Instead, nothing, zilch, nadda.

They are really selling it..

Since people are likely re-playing new vegas i thought i'd post a finding here. Was getting occasional crashes, fixed them by turning down water multi sampling in the advanced launcher settings. Found it in an old thread from when the game was launched, apparently it caused performance issues back then too.

I hate linking to another info site, but @RCoon appears to be falling down on the job and not keeping us up to date on every single game update in the known universe, so :slap:

:) anyway, basically, it's the same story as Skyrim, Mod tools not released at the same time as the game, although he does say something slightly stupid like “Nobody cares about mods if the game sucks,” which is complete crap in my mind, since the games have sucked to some degree or other, but are quickly fixed by dedicated modders :)

My profound apologies. Unfortunately I run a full time job (networking at a grammar school), so I don't get to write as many articles as I'd like to. I wake up, go to work for 8 hours (I write in between lunch breaks at work), come home, carry on working for four hours (or more depending on deadlines), eat and then go to bed. My partner hates it, but you have to push the water uphill to get anywhere important. It's difficult to keep up, and I have to prioritise certain things over others depending on which publisher is breathing down my neck throughout the week. I do get paid a small amount based on the figures I bring in (which isn't all that much, I'm probably the smallest fish in the industry), so I can't go full time game journalist. One day I will however, and then I'll have no excuse for being so short on content! :toast:

That said, I'm an avid daily reader of RPS, great site.

Working hard and using your head pays off.

Sleep is optional. :p

I have a funny feeling it's a OS thing too, When FO3 1st came out we had no issue's running it and then we got it again with addons though steam as it was dirt cheap and again played though it with near no issue's, MS Live! was the only issue ( remember account details ).

Now we started to play it again just last week and it's been hell which was another reason of getting rid of win10 how ever that was not the only issue. Apparently the game over time has become so bad it's not even playable crashes all over the place random and none random.

Remember i have put so many hours in to FO under the Vista OS and win7 OS but this 3rd time it's really bad to the point it required a unofficial patch to fix it were before it did not.

It's not just them and there game it's all the updates to the OS that screw shit up too with it's .net and maybe other stuff.

I just wrote an email to Bethesda basically offering to blow everyone in the building for a pip-boy.

i'm running FO3 at 3800x1800, 2xAA (my card cant handle 8xAA at that res) with all settings ultra and its completely stable. The only thing i've had to do is set that water multi sampling setting to the lowest, followed by the .ini tweak all over the web to lock it to dual threaded.

those tweaks were not enough to make it work in 8.1, it works great. i'm Mc'lovin it, and just put 100 hours in since win 10 launched.

Well it was crashing all over the place for me so went though the Steam guide to solve it including the .ini tweaks and it's running with every thing maxed out running the same resolution.

290X can handle it no problem and cannot see why a 290 cannot.

point lookout DLC runs a lot worse than other areas, and thats where i'm currently at. i could handle 3K + 8XAA in the main game.

you should do a guide for getting Fo3 working in Win 10 @Mussels

already did, its that simple.
link below has the .ini tweak, and turning down the water multisampling prevented a few crashes in certain map areas.

beyond that i had one repeating crash at the end of the main quest with liberty prime, but that was fixed by moving forward slowly and waiting til prime had done its things before moving up.

oh and you dont need to disable GFWL in win10, it'll pop up with a compatibility alert - click that and it downloads a new, offline/fixed GFWL installer for you.

Not disabled it although it makes a error in events but had no crashes so i have not bothered with it.

Speak for yourself! Jeeze when FO3 released there were LOADS of issues. LOADS. Unplayable for some. God I won't soon forget it.
