I played FF13-2 demo and can say it will be lager scale game than ff13, atleast this one got cities, you can have dialogues, information obtaining, and much more, what was laking in FF13.I giving really big hopes for it because I liked FF13 and want to see how the story unfolds further.
Ou yes I played Chrono trigger was a nice game, but i think 2d games are not so addictive as they where back in days, but still cant say anything bad about 2d games, especially from FF series.

who said the remake had to be 2D?

fact is story wise character wise etc the Chrono Series pretty much kicks Final Fantasy's ass, just FF gets far more publicity :toast:

would be nice if they had larger areas and more exploration but i doubt it ill wait for it to happen.

I agree with you there

I got FF13 last week and it's one of the best games (Gameplay and graphics and sound) i've seen in a very long time

Yeah it wasn't like the story or animation was bad, but it definitely deferred from exploring and collecting which were part of the true spirit in FF. I remember in FF7 trying to raise my golden chocobo and then getting my knights of the round table summon, that was one of the most epic video game experiences I've ever had and actually having to go out of your way to recruit your comrades was also epic. FF13 seemed more like a movie than anything as they left out some of some of the most important mechanics in an FF game which is to Explore and Collect. It felt more like an Enix game than anything (creator of: Star Ocean and a bunch of other lame action JRPGs), thus why I preferred Squaresoft on their own as they didn't start going downhill with their games until they formed Square Enix.

I played Final Fantasy I for NES, Crystal Chronicles, IV and VI for SNES, barely any of VII, little bit of IX and some of XII. But have played I-VI on SNES and GBA through emulation. I thought The Spirits Within movie was crap and not even a VII fantard to watch the movie based on it. I did play a bit of X and the less said about it the better. For the fifth generation of console gaming I had a pre-built computer to play games on so I was left out of the N64, PlayStation and Sega Saturn craze.
Hopefully for XV they return to the fast open world of exploration, no ultra weeaboo characters or emo shit. No linear paths either and I have zero interest for playing Final Fantasy XIII or XIV.

No Dragon Quest is a series which I enjoy far more compared to Final Fantasy.

The main problem with games are when more parts there are than worst outcome like with movies> saw1-7 first part was ok but later on was just nightmare. MOre or less same with games. BUt still cant say anything bad about FF13, Ofcourse I would like to have wider areas and exploration of bigger scale. But guess its not the great rpg era anymore

was a fan up until x then my hopes for the series started to fall, then i bought 13 and my hopes for the series died, gave up on ff after i beat it.

yea I have to agree I would much rather see a continuation to the chrono line rather than final fantasy at this point.

I just think FFXIII was way to cinematic. It felt like the game was playing itself, and you were lucky enough to ride along. I also don't like the pseudo-live action combat system. Turn-Based worked rather well, and I thought X handled it fine. I think Square Enix is just trying to mix in elements of Western RPG's, which ironically are just starting to copy the old jRPG formula.

FFX allowed you to roam the world at certain points (not as much as the PS1 or S/NES FF Games) the choice to go back to previously explored places and even find new stuff in them. My favorites were FFVII, FFVIII, and FFX. I put a solid 200hrs into FFX.

That's why they responded to that criticism with XIII-2.

And now it's too non-linear.

It's too confusing that you almost always have to consult a map.

Semit OT:
Xenoblade: Chronicles. Its the only jRPG right now that i really enjoyed since the FF PS1 and SNES days, Combat is similar to FF12/Tales which is MMO-ish but i thought the combat for the game is more enjoyable, specially when you can have huge equipment customization and can slap some crafted upgrades.

Sample vids i took through Dolphin:
Note: Spoiler alert
[yt]-6U5Qw9lLuk[/yt]
[yt]u2-sZff1jNU[/yt]
[yt]nO-n9go_0hQ[/yt]
Music in the game is just awesome imo, and the graphics artistically and technically is something praise worthy, considering the graphical capabilities of the Wii (note the vids are in HD version so in the Wii it can only do 480p)

It's worth mentioning that just up-scaling doesn't change the fact that low resolution textures exist. Higher resolutions will make it look more crisp and defined, but it doesn't add any real detail per say.

On Topic: FFXIII-2 is getting rather positive reviews. I might actually be convinced to try it--even considering how terrible XIII was...

I like this game more than previous ff13, maybe it has too many cutscenes in it,but levelup system is better than in ff13, i like how they implemented monster taming and leveling as the 3rd player.

meh i checked out XIII-2 and was not impressed story sucks even more screwy and just off the wall then anything in previous series, felt no connection with the characters what so ever,

they fixed the maps a bit more exploration is nice, but story and character development is just utter crap it apparently fell off a cliff.

Im well aware of that ;)
It actually makes some textures uglier/flatter when running at high resolution (in junction with higher internal render resolution), tho some textures will actually look "clearer" (still low res) due to less pixelation as a result of lower internal rendering resolution.

OT:
in xenoblade, interaction and relationships with fellow party members is really worth it, didn't pay much attention in my earlier hours lol.

yep xenoblade is a huge huge game but square, I guess they simply don't want to work as long on games as they did for the previous games, if they wanted to make someting like FF7 8 or 9 look close to 13 there would be a shitload of discs, even the old FF 7 and 2 and 3 cds and you know what . . . . . I would buy it not to mention that the market has changed alot of kids nowadays like this boring linear bs, they have no idea what they missed.

I hope 2 is more open but for me . . . . . .

I personally enjoy XIII myself (currently playing through it now) as it was something different. In the end for me I thought all the FF games were unique because they all offered something different and it wasn't the same play for every game they released. There are better rpgs then the FF series as some have noted but I don't believe that it makes any of the FF games bad as a whole. But, leave it to me to be neutral! I personally will be buying XIII-2 when I get my rig all squared away.
