Final Intel 12th Gen Core CPU Spec and Pricing Leak Hours Before Official Reveal

I really hope these are competitive with Zen3+. Some real competition will push the prices down again for both companies. Now if we could only get some of that action on GPUs.

That's not the problem, because of DDR5 we don't know the actual performance of these CPUs since most of the improvements come from DDR5 itself.

Right, when so many early motherboards will be affordable DDR4 jobs, the real impact of buying Alder Lake will be a lot more moot.

Also, I can guarantee you that Zen 3 with stacked SRAM will be faster than Alder Lake running old DDR4; and if you really look at the price premium of buying new DDr5 (more expensive motherboards, plus more expensive modules, plus cant reuse your existing sticks), it's going to be a huge cost hit for 10% better performance!

$564 is a steal. Just goes to show how greedy AMD has become. Thank you Intel for saving us.
I suppose you forgot about motherboard pricing? Shows you how greedy Intel has become adding unneccesary features for consumers and locking OC to their top boards which start at 200$+. If they lowered pricing, opened up OC to B-series boards and generally don't stuff low-end stuff full of high-end features then it's a different story.

Motherboards and DDR5 will be expensive so early adopter tax will be in full effect.

Those prices stated are reseller prices for buying 1000 units at a time.

Street pricing is usually 10-20% higher than that to account for retailer margins. Then add sales tax.
People say this every gen and it's never true. Same old song as when Rocket Lake's prices leaked.

Like the RCP of the 11900k is $539.00 - $549.00 and that's also the price you can buy it for. This has been the case for as long as I know for Intel CPUs.

Also a new heatsink / CLC
Some "Leaks" suggest the mounting pressure requirement is doubled for LGA1700
Old heatsinks with a LGA1700 adaptor isn't going to do it.
Hence lead to high temps.

You can get an 11900K for that price now, just as Rocket Lake is about to be replaced, yes.

11900K's official MSRP/list price is $609 compared to the $539 x1000 price on Intel ARK - so 13% higher which is within the 10-20% I stated earler.
Camelcamelcamel or other price-history trackers will prove to you that it did initially sell for the MSRP, with pricing brought into line rapidly by market supply/demand within a few months.

Alder Lake will eventually sell for whatever the market will bear. I'm not going to try and predict the future as I have no more information than you do. If GPUs have told us anything recently, it's that MSRP's are kind of pointless when there's more supply than demand, and whether Alder Lake is desirable enough to whip up high demand depends on the cost of the whole ecosystem (CPU, board, RAM, and cooler if it's a hungry beast - and of course independent reviews).

Is this going to make games run faster than a 9900KS+3080Ti at 4K?

CS:GO, yes.
AAA titles with utlra settings? No - because as fast as the 3080Ti is, it's still going to be the bottleneck at 4K.

IF that pricing is correct, that's gonna blow a hole in AMDs margins. 12600K faster than a 5800X and priced like the street price of a 5600X?

DDR5 is not required for those citing this as an issue. One leaked benchmark showed a 12700K with DDR4-3200 trading blows with the 5950X on PugetBench.

So you believe Intel graphs? Haha.... :D If Intel sets MSRP lower than Ryzen, you know those products will be slower.

On pricing which I was commenting on, I don't need to believe Intel graphs I can see the pre-order pricing at Best Buy. $269 for a 12600K which by multiple reports bests a 5800X which currently runs about $390 on Amazon.

$265 US dollars for the KF. Not bad tbh.

IMO - that is the one to get once cheaper mobos are available. Right now it's a bit of a hard sell coming off a 10850K esp since im gaming at 4k... so im not sure there will be enough difference to matter. Going to wait for reviews. 12600KF sold out of Newegg preorder at $300 within minutes :/

I saw best buy had pre-order left for 12700K earlier, but sold out now.

so my new comet lake will become obselete if face to face with price performance per watt from this new alder lake.... ??

It depends on the price of motherboards and if you choose to go with DDR5 or DDR4. As it is the Z690 boards with DDR5 look to be a hose job for the average consumer which leaves the B660 w/DDR4 lineup. The down side to that is audio codec .. the B560 boards have the older Realtek 897 codec due to limited PCIe lanes (bandwidth). Hopefully that isn't the case with the B660 boards.

If you care about price performance per watt
Maybe stick to Comet Lake and wait for Meteor Lake.

Early adopter tax is really heavy for this generation.

Lot's of next generation features. Architecture, Gen 5, DRRM5. Lots to go sidewise but hopefully they can sort it. "A brave decision, Prime Minister".

vs 5900X :

View attachment 222603

Original - the fastest scoring 5950X in their database gets a 1575 vs this 12700K score of 1565 using DDR4 :

You really expect me to believe that? I wont even ask how Puget releases a review before anyone else, let alone their own made up benchmark tool...

only credible testing by non-schills will convince me.

It's not a review, they got it the same way Geekbench does, someone ran their benchmark and uploaded it to their database. This happens on every chip every time a new one comes out.
