Seriously happy today. Picked up 5600X at $299 at Microcenter. While I was in their Tustin location I noticed that they had at least 6 more 5600X's and 10 or more 5800X's also at MSRP. They are also offering the $20 discount if you buy a motherboard with the cpu, so I picked up a cheap B450 mobo at MSRP to get my $20 discount.

Being a big fan of the AM4 platform means that the 3600 I purchased as a place holder for the 5600x (bought from Microcenter when they were $159), will be handed down to my son, who has a 2600, that will be handed down to my wife to put in to a new build for her using the cheap B450 motherboard I bought with the 5600X. Everyone is happy.

Microcenter also had 3 EVGA RTX 3080 at $880, but were cleared out of the overpriced 3060Ti's that were on their shelves last week.

Newegg has 5600X's but still above MSRP. I did also just see that Walmart and Amazon have 5600X stock at MSRP.

My local MC had a pretty solid selection of 5000 series CPUs when I was in a few weeks ago to, was originally planning on a 5800x since they didn't list having anything else, but they had both 5950x's and 5900x's, got a 5900x. Their GPU selection has been crap whenever I've popped my head in there.

Ummm, no. That's not true on both counts. Newegg is out of stock but they are/were priced at the MSRP of $299. And actually, the MSRP is $299.99 so they are selling it at the same price as Amazon with a whopping discount of 99¢.

Like Amazon, Newegg has partner seller who may or may not sell at MSRPs.

not a huge fan of the gaming performance.
it's bascially on par with an overclocked 10600k. which costs over 100 bucks less.

At more than 1/2 the power draw and slower with an RDNA card.

My local Micro Center has been sitting on stock of the 5600x and 5800x for some time now. I haven't seen any 5900x or 5950x show up for a while and GPUs, they're very flaky as of lately. GPUs used to show up a dozen or two a week, various models of RTX and the odd couple RX from time to time.

The GPUs haven't been coming in as much as they have been in the past and the few that come in, if you're not already 45 minutes early before the store opens you won't get one. There are always 30+ people in line around 30-45 minutes before the store opens, hoping to get one of the few GPUs that comes in. The ones that do come in, they're selling upwards of 150%+ over the MSRP of the FE editions. You like that AIB 3060 Ti that's on the shelf, do you? Normally it would have been around $450, but it's retail price is $700.....

€330 isn't bad, right? I haven't even seen any MSRP in €. Dunno why you're even looking at Amazon alone..

I get this, but everyone in my family is now on AM4 platforms, so basically I can upgrade one pc and pass the old equipment down to wife and kids.... :)

LOL Sounds like my X. "Look! I saved $20 by spending $200 on this thingy we don't need". :kookoo:
Ha, that would be funny, but I actually needed another cheap B450 board for new build for nephew. He's getting my wife's old Ryzen 5 1600. The wife is now getting my son's 2600X, he's getting my 3600 and I'm getting the shiny new 5600X. Everyone is happy...... LOL...

It was probably the shipping delay that the Chinese New Year created.

Says the guy with a 6800 and 6800XT

I don't have both, I had a RX 6800, traded it with the price difference for a RX 6800 XT ;)

Well I'm from the UK and after MONTHS looking for one at close to MSRP I found one from Newegg worldwide, it set me back £268 which is around 373$, but this is the cheapest I have seen it not from AMD website, and, after Brexit AMD stopped shipping to the uk so no more stock at MSRP (£256), the cheapest I have seen anywhere else is around £300 - £350, and at launch they were over £400. Patience pays off.
