Seriously happy today. Picked up 5600X at $299 at Microcenter. While I was in their Tustin location I noticed that they had at least 6 more 5600X's and 10 or more 5800X's also at MSRP. They are also offering the $20 discount if you buy a motherboard with the cpu, so I picked up a cheap B450 mobo at MSRP to get my $20 discount.
Being a big fan of the AM4 platform means that the 3600 I purchased as a place holder for the 5600x (bought from Microcenter when they were $159), will be handed down to my son, who has a 2600, that will be handed down to my wife to put in to a new build for her using the cheap B450 motherboard I bought with the 5600X. Everyone is happy.
Microcenter also had 3 EVGA RTX 3080 at $880, but were cleared out of the overpriced 3060Ti's that were on their shelves last week.
Newegg has 5600X's but still above MSRP. I did also just see that Walmart and Amazon have 5600X stock at MSRP.
