Solid... but if you plan to overclock, I would get a slightly better board for it. Asrock z170 extreme 4 comes to mind off hand.

I'd also get the evga 550b psu. Tier 2, but a great deal. If you want tier 2 get evga supernova g2 line. The nex, while decent are a couple gens old.

Ram is purchased, but I would have went 3000 cl15. 2400 is ddr3 speeds, but with ddr4 timings.

It's not that you will notice anything, it's more of a 'why would I get slower speeds than last generation mental mind F for me, lol.

Ive never really used DDR4 before so even then I might not ever recognize a change in speeds lol

You won't really... but, for a couple dollars more, you have actual ddr4 speeds, instead of where ddr3 left off...

Tough call between the 480 and 1060. Right now, 1060 is faster, and costs more. If and this is a big IF, Vulkan takes off and shows the improvements we saw in doom, the 480 will be the better card in the end. But again, big if...Mantle failed/never took off... so, it depends. Can't hinges purchases off hopes, imo.

I'd go 1060 personally. Faster and uses less power.

The cards I see back in the shop the most are MSI and EVGA, but that isn't the part that sways me. EVGA for an RMA is literally seamless and fast, 4 months ago we sent off 8 MSI cards and 3 EVGA cards. The EVGA cards were all received back and they had replaced them with higher tier cards than what was sent into them. We have not gotten a single MSI back and trying to call or email those clowns is a big fat game of not it. If I never have to deal with MSI's RMA service again it will be too soon.
