And here we are with another quick update for today, the FAH Pie Stats for the 16th July 2025!!

Now there we are, a slight drop in the points for today for the last 24 hours but there we are, some of the points and the heat don't really go hand in hand, not to mention the expense! Still, I think we can take a plus from it, so lets put our hands together for @jak_2456 !!

And there we are again with another great update Surprisingly we have nearly doubled our previous FAH contribution from yesterday today, so that is just utterly awesome!! Great work everyone, that's an awesome upshift!!

I stopped folding for a few days, it was getting too hot in here for me. Even with AC running it was hanging around 74f. I know I'm complaining over nothing to some of you but after getting home from a 11hr shift and being hot all day I want to have a chance to cool down for a couple of hours before hitting the gym to be hot for another 2hrs. Working full time, being married, have multiple children (ages 3-10) and trying to get into condition to step on stage for men's physique in 2026 takes a lot out of a person. So the little joy of sitting around in a 68f home is worth it for me.

Now that the temps have dropped a bit for the next few days I will get a few WUs going.

Btw seeing the talk of the i7 920 reminds me, I sold my 920 D0 a long time ago but I did save a i7 860 with gold ocz ram from the scrap bin a while back. It's still a decent rig. I use it for older games that I can't get to play on the newer hardware. It's paired with a GTX 760.

Well well, all this talk of 920 D0's is getting me back in memory lane, so without further ado, we'll come back to those in a bit and see what else we can try and de-rail the thread with (Yes I don't mind that!! ) But for the moment, we'll get on with the FAH Pie Stats for today, which is the 20th July 2025!!

Now there we are for a good day, I mean, just under 180 million points ain't half bad for team TPU but I know we have so much more in our stocks, so whenever we are ready, I'm sure we'll be able to smash it

Picked up a p106 passive for $23 that I am playing around with. 3d printed a simple dual 80mm shroud for it. Today it's been putting down 860k-1.1m depending on WU. Decided to put it as a secondary card in the old i7 3770k that was collecting dust in the closet. By modern standards it's nothing crazy but I'm having fun playing around while helping my old team out.

I do all my folding on an HP Compaq 6000 Pro SFF from 2009-10 that a school threw out. It has a Core2 Duo, and I added a GTX 745 that was in a family member's PC. While that hardware is not particularly useful for a lot of modern purposes, I am more than happy to use it for F@H!

I'm very please to say that even with getting the latest points grab I can in the mornings, the points seem to still lower than the last 24 hours score, so I'm curious what is going on there, but more points for us is always good and you guys and gals never disappoint when it comes to the daily contributions!! I hope everyone has had a good hump day so far?? Nearly tea time here in the UK, so lets get this sorted out and then I can hopefully get a few more jobs done before much more time goes past !! I've been using the GPUs I had when mining and these are still going about 3 years or more afterwards The mining is never the issue I don't think as I believe FAH is as hard on the hardware as the mining to a degree, but its all about managing the heat and temps from things.. I run my cards about 80% to help with temps and power usage and to be honest, I don't really notice the difference in the performance with it knocked down a bit Definitely helps with the power bills!!

Warranty of the Seasonic 650ish power supply is 5 years and the Evga is 10 years
Seasonic higher power output PS have 12 years
On a lower output power supply I would look at EVGA

Precision X1 from EVGA has controls to limit everything, so you can deal with all situations...never need to shut them down unless Windows 10 cause an issue or maybe a hardware failure.
I use it on my 3080's
MSI has Afterburner for my 4090's
It too has all the controls to limit demands for any situation.

Thanks for making me feel like an idiot, I have mostly asus boards and always wonder what the "AI" bs was about on them even the 1st gen i7 has it. Never once did I think to check into and assumed it was marketing BS. Now that I know I can control all that stuff, I'm going to try it out.

However even with having all this control I'm not convinced to fold at night in my bedroom, it's too hot as it is sharing a bed with my wife, I like to sleep as cold as possible talking 60f or colder. Sleep is really important to me for recovery. Especially now that my oldest daughter has me training with her to run a 5k while I'm also trying to bulk (eating 4k cal daily being a 5'9" male) to hit my bodybuilding goals. I will be playing around with tweaking power settings for all the others that I currently run. Come winter months I plan to mostly heat with folding.
