I have the FH5 on Game Pass and haven't played it for months, so I hoped to dive into it today. Unfortunately, all I get is the colourful splash screen with a tiny syncing message, then a much smaller image of FH5 which then disappears.
It seems I'm not the only one either, with many players on Steam experiencing the same problem. Some fixed it by clicking repeatedly on the smaller image, but that didn't work for me. I then stood on my head with my boxers on my feet but that didn't work either.
I even reset the XBox app, then uninstalled the game and started a new install on a different drive.
It's still downloading, so I'll report back later.

Just gave it a try.... Mine seems loading/running fine. Bought it on Steam.

This issue has been going on for years. Only fix is to enable v-sync. Delete you configuration file and try again.

Shame the XBox app is so crap for managing installations, unlike Steam, because, having uninstalled it, the download was 150Gb plus Hot Wheels at 10GB. Sure, you can move some apps in Windows settings, but I believe the latest update screwed the install.
Anyway, it's launching fine now.

I usually disable v-sync, so I don't think that makes any difference. But I do know that certain game recorder overlays such as Bandicam and Action! will prevent some Forza games from loading.

Forza 5 has been this way for me since I got it a few years ago. Doesn't matter the computer. Once I disabled v-sync which is on by default, it never gets past the loading screen. I've seen a bunch of methods like disable Xbox game bar, turn off Internet, reg edits. But besides v-sync, dong alt-tab a billion times for each loading screen is the only other way I figured out around it.

Settings I run never not been able to launch it Xbox App since launch.
