Foxconn P35A or ASUS P5K?

Hey guys,

I'm Returning my current P5K because it's broken, and need to choose a motherboard. It needs to support C2D CPU'S, DDR2 and Crossfire. I've picked out the P5K (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/129125) and the Foxconn P35A(http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131095). I'm open to other suggestions, but they need to be under £75 from that site. If you can't find any better with the P35 chipset for that price, which of those is better?

edit2-theres not really much under £75 apart from them two you posted really.If you need cross fire.

Gigabyte P35 DS3R - Good board. Built a rig with an E2140 and that mobo yesterday. Got it to 3.0GHz - very easy overclocker.
EDIT: No Xfire though- but it's overrated anyway.

remember for crossfire a pci-e 4x lane will seriously hamper your crossfire performance.. expect to only gain 25% performance in 3dmark 06 with 2x 1650series cards using a 16 and 4x lanes board.

im going for the GA-P35C-DS3R mobo

, has combo ddr2 and ddr3, and supports 45nm quads
and can reach godlike overclocks with the help of its max 700fsb

it only has one pci-e slot, and will be best for you if you go nvidia

the combo ddr2&ddr3 is actually not a bad thing, it keeps up with ddr2/3 only mobo's,
its a much needed improvement from the days of combo ddr and ddr2

At least the PSU that arrived today works. I have to wait until Christmas Day for this, it arrives Christmas Eve. So I'm having it on Christmas day.

Also, hopefully the CPU fan is quiet when it arives too. I've forgotten what it's like to have a computer that doens't literally sound like a jet engine (I borrowed a decibelometer from school, my old system was running at 50dB, and I was holding it 3ft away)

Ben ended up getting the DFI 975X instead. Best person to ask is Shadowfold, he currently has one for sale that he was using.

Thats who I bought it from..

He said he did not OC much on it, thats why I thought I would ask Ben here.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to see what she can do to an E7200. :rockout:

I hit 4.0GHz on my E7200 with the X38A...IMHO the bios is limited, or i could have gotten more.

Well best bet is to look over a few reviews. I beleive last time i read it is good up to I think 550fsb.

Good choice, I think that the Foxconn will be better board... The standard P5K isn't too great, the SE is horrible, the rest are amazing!

Hey 550FSB would be better than the 515 or so I can achieve on my 780i... :banghead:

stupid SLI. I am gonna give the 780i FTW a shot.

This board is my other system, see what intel has done. Would really like to play with an x48, but needed a budget board or now.

The OC will depend on the E7200, Mine stops at 475 FSB when i know the board can do 520 with another CPU.

I think it was missing CPU VTT and the what DFI calls GTL reference voltages!

Ah ok, so your chip was limiited, but it does not have the gtlvref voltage adjustments either ok.
