Frustrating "BOOT MGR" error

Do not do that, OP. Do not delete System Reserved after Windows installation. It contains the kernel and basically everything you need to boot Windows. It's created by Windows installer, for the purpose of booting the system before loading the BitLocker drivers.

Didn't crash my system, its sloppy partitioning to have it there in the first place.

The 100Mb partition is not the main boot partition or boot drive, but serve only as a backup. The partition is for Bitlocker, the partition can be avoided altogether by not formatting with Windows. Bitlocker on the boot drive is overkill imo, most people don't use Bitlocker anyways, probably because most boards don't have native TPM support which is a requirement for Bitlocker. The main boot files are on the OS partition.

As for running a startup repair with the Windows CD, just a band-aid. If the system hard crash the bootmgr still have two Active partitions to choose from. When you have some extra time you need to setup your partitions the right way to avoid future problems, look at my pic above then look at yours. Hope it works out for you.

I'll look into this stuff shortly. So far the rig is running good after the start up repair was done. If it doesn't give any issues I won't mess with it. If it does, then i'll look into another way to fix the issue.

I truly hope you don't have anymore problems, problems are a pain is the ass big or small. I have one question.....what took you so long to run the startup repair? richjordan255 suggested the startup repair 10 days ago. :confused:

I was doing the AIM thing, trying to figure out if it was that, remember? I really want to do one thing at a time so I can help others if it ever happens. This has to be the most frustrating problem I've ever had bro. That's why it's taking me long to do things you know, since I'm changing something and then waiting a day or two to see if it happens or not.

I see your point and understand. Some problems do take more time than other to sort out, some take days, some weeks, and some when the next service pack comes out. Hope this is the end of it for you.

You need to stop with the false advices. System Reserved is active and contains boot files. Even if you don't use BitLocker the machine still boots from it. The main system drive is only accessed after loading the boot manager which is located on System Reserved.

If you think I'm wrong, do a fresh install of Windows 7 on an empty disk, then delete the System Reserved and watch the BIOS panics. Afterwards, waste your time by resizing partition, setting it active and run startup repairs(takes forever to fix this particular issue) to gain a whopping 100MiB.

There is also nothing wrong with Windows installer creating System Reserved. It is not sloppy partitioning, it's a sensible action to avoid future hassles if the user choses to use BitLocker in a later date. And, a TPM device is not absolutely required for BitLocker.
 
Ok, so now in my computer, my SSD supposely has 0MB of free space, WTF??????????

No I have been running it after startup for a day or two now before I noticed this.

Seems fine now, everything is working fine. I had stuff closing and all sorts of weird shit. It all started happening after I set certain stuff in the BIOS to AHCI. I have it back to Native IDE or whatever the default was. Seems ok now.

Changing the SATA controller mode from IDE to AHCI after Windows installation is generally a hassle. But if you want it can be done, should be easy for your particular board since it has a second SATA controller.
 
i think there is something wrong with the ssd's circuitry. maybe an IC has gone haywire. u should contact the manufacturer.

AHCI seems to have caused that haywire behavior. It's all fine now.
 
Ok so boot mrg. has happened again. Only thing left to do is mess with the partitions.
