[FS] Custom PC Building

Yep. I'm not going to sell servers though, not for a while.

The site has now been cleaned out. I'm in the process of banning the spammers.

@ HookeyStreet: The reason there's only two up ATM is because I'm waiting for the Phenom chips.

The forums are now in a clean state, and I made HookeyStreet a moderator.

Also, in September, I'm chucking some Phenom systems out, and I'm currently building (out of my own money) an experimental uber-budget rig, which will hopefully weigh in at £250, due to it being single-core and DDR1, AGP...

Thanks,

Ben

P.S. If anyone has any spare time, and would like to create a site that actually looks good, please e-mail benclarke@ukfolders.mpog.co.uk

Thanks.

Systems are going to be almost AMD exclusive from now on, as AMD performs better, and faster in all the benchmarks I've seen.

OK, in an hour or so, I'm starting to redisign the site, and hopefully get it to a better appearance. The advertisiment currently there will stay, as I don't have that game at the minute to make a new one.

Also, some more systems will be added.

I've put a glossary up in the forum, I would appreciate it if someone could go over it for me, make sure it is all correct. Thankyou.

Main site now down for redesign. If you are lucky, itt'll be back up later.

:roll::roll::roll:

intel benchmarks higher than AMD. period.

edit - but AMD is cheaper though...

not entirly true AMD benches dollar for dollar pretty even with intel, but intel comes into its own when they are oc'd

OC'd or unOC'd intel benches higher.

no if you look at what they are designed to run with they bench the same 6000/6400 trade punches with the top end intels and single core a64s bench with the conroe based cellys

Yeah, but thing is you could just buy a 1066 mhz conroe overclock it to 1333mhz (266 to 333) which is basically a guaranteed overclock (with a better than stock hsf cooler of course). Especially if you run a p35 based board. Then if you buy a 1333 mhz conroe you can overclock that to 1600 mhz pretty safely (333-400 mhz).

Loose the sound card, and either put an X-Fi in, or use onboard, the rest looks good, although I would prefer to be able to select my own OS over Vista *hint hint*

Yeah, but XP seems more expensive now than Vista Premium :/

And yeah, was thinking about onboard sound, but then so many people complained about it last time

have a look at my system specs, thats my current build, you will see that I have an auidgy 2, but I think a lot of people would prefer onboard sound at todays standard, than a 3 or 4 year old cut down auidgy SE.

Edit: BTW when's the site back up, the forums are full of spam AGAIN. have a look on PHPBB, see about getting some anti-spam plugins.

Hmm... OK, I'll consider that... Nothings set in stone yet, because I'm still fixing up the site from when I took it down 2 weeks ago... foums need cleaning up though... what the hell has Hookey been doing while I've been gone :p

i'm supprised that you don't get more customers, especially with all the porn :P

Aye, but cPanel does report a lot of visits from the sites they link to... :/

I dunno, even modern on-board sound isn't as good as it should be. Even with an SE you have a sound processor to help relieve some CPU load and process your sound via hardware, where-as onboard still depends on codecs. And I happen to have a P5B with a half-crap sound chip in it, and an Abit AS8-v that sounds good, but nothing like an add-on sound card. Add-ons are generally just better than on-board from my experiences. Sure on-board has come a ways, but it seems more bent on features like 7.1 surround and spdiff and what-not more than Sound Quality, which is what really matters to those who enjoy and have enjoyed good sound quality before.

I will be getting a sound card in the future, dunno what to get yet, I don't plan on going back to Vista any time soon. Haven't looked into too far yet, but my 5.1 headset is in need of a better sound adapter!

Glad to see you're still at it Ben! :toast:

:shadedshu I should hope not!

That's my bandwith, it's not a bloody PORN server :P :shadedshu

Thats what places like google are for :P

thing is though, people that 'notice' a diffrence between onboard and PCI/PCI-E sound, are probably going to want a slightly higer end card, than an SE. I would if I was paying over £700 for my rig.

Meh, I'm gonna IP ban those sites... and anyway, site work is really gonna speed up, due to a website contest at school. I plan to enter this, and hopefully win something.

EDIT: Also, does anyone know how Google works with it's listings? Is it like most views per month first or something?

ill talk about google on msn

OK, forums been cleaned of the porn now, now I'm trying to figure out the spammers. And hoping that the image verification will stop them registering.
