Ok, I know that this is a pretty specific thread and or question and before you guys start asking if I have disabled my antiviruses and ran my AV and checked for viruses. I have!! Lol, I've also changed my page file from windows managing it to me managing it. I have all the recent drivers for my video cards and mobo. I've got the Game Booster and so there for I don't have any unnecessary programs running in the background. Last but not least I've checked my registry and I've made tweaks to it as advised from other forums.

Now the question is..... I have a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0Ghz overclocked to 3.8Ghz, 6Gigs of SuperTalent 800mhz RAM, 2 GTS 250s in SLI, X-FI Extreme Gamer Sound Card, and a Killer Xeno Pro NIC card for internet. My PSU is a Antec 650 Watt. With all of this I get stuttering or skipping in frames or pauses or whatever the hell you want to call it. The point is that the game pauses for a split second as I'm either turning, running, or just going under a bridge (Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.... The new one.) I need a some help in solving this problem and I've just about tried everything. I'm really starting to think that with the current PSU that I have is not able to provide the power I need to either my CPU, GPU, or RAM. All I know is I can't overclock my ram manually to a higher Mhz speed any further then my FSB will allow or else it won't boot up period! Also I forgot to mention that my Mobo is a Asus P5Q-E Delux. Please help with any info pertaining to my problem, I would really appreciate it cause it's just about to cause me to pull my hair out. Thanks in advance and cheers mates XD.

try running just one card, do you still get the stuttering?

BTW, it's not your PSU. If the problem was your PSU, your computer would be crashing(blue-screen)

Also, look at the top of the screen on this page, see where it says user cp, click that and on the left, select enter system specs and enter exactly what hardware you have in your computer so people can see exactly what you have in your computer.

Tried that and yes... I unfortunately still get stuttering.... The only games I don't get stuttering is in DX9 games like Need for Speed Most Wanted and lower end games like that, but even in NFSMW the frames stay at 60 with Vsync on but I still notice miniscule amounts of stuttering but it's not real noticeable unless you really look at it. Also Vsync isn't the problem here cause I've ran my other games with and without it on and it still happens. Also I know it can't be my HDD cause I have a 10,000 RPM Raptor. I know it seems like I'm just throwing out every possible explanation that could be causing this but I've been to a lot of forums here of late trying to fix this and I've seen all of these in them..... so I don't mean to be a buzz kill here :(

is your video cards 512mb cards or do you have 1gb GTS250 cards?

C'mon, lol with all that you think I would waste money on a 512mb GPU? Lol, nah for real though, they both are 1gb ;)

well you are still using a socket 775 dual core.

Ok, so you still get the stuttering when not running SLI(I originally was thinking SLI caused microstuttering). Hmm, let me think for a minute.

That doesn't matter here bro. Ran an e5200 4Ghz + G92 GTS SLI. No stuttering and worked very well. GTX275-esque in 75% of games about year and half ago.

@Techreaper

Try dropping down to 2 sticks on the ram for now.

I know JR, I was just answering his semi-smart ass answer with one of my own. :toast:

Well see I recently just bought the extra ram to fix the stuttering......

What game?

Leave the page file to windows, gamebooster is a joke.

And extra ram? 6gb is plenty

so you were getting the stuttering with just two sticks of RAM before the upgrade?

I really don't find gamebooster to be a joke cause I've ran Unigine Heaven and I get better scores with it on then with it off..... Also I know I have enough ram that's why I'm writing this thread. You ask what games? I say pretty much every game that I have aside from the ones that are less demanding like NFSMW.

So now this tells me you need to revert back to stock NO OVERCLOCK. Report back once tested. If that doesn't work driver clean and attempt the latest WHQL's.

Newest NFS btw is FPS locked and doesnt need SLI to run maxed. Could probably do it on an HD5770.

so you were getting the stuttering with just two sticks of RAM before the upgrade?

Yes and when I had the 2 stick I have 4gbs or the same brand same speed like I do now.

what temperatures are your GFX card and cpu running at while playing?

The newest NFS.

Out of curiousity, how many processes do you have running?

I have at this very moment 36 processes with gamebooster on. With it off I have 47 processes going.

what temperatures are your GFX card and cpu running at while playing?

CPU never gets over 45c and GPU never gets up passed 60 I think but I'm not sure.

Also I don't think I mentioned that I'm running Win7 Ultimate 64bit.

you want him to do a reformat JR?
