Hey all, I've been looking into water cooling for my rig (<-in system info). Its running nice and solid and i'm fine at 3.5GHz. But i want it to run cooler and faster. Call me a nut for that.

Well here is the list.

Pump
Swiftech MCP655 Pump

Gfx Block

EK Full Coverage 8800 GT/GTS Block

Radiator
ThermoChill PA120.3 3x120mm High Performance Radiator

Fittings
Danger Den High Flow Fittings 1/4in BSPP thread to 1/2in ID Barb

Reservoir
Swiftech MCRES-MICRO Reservoir - Retail w/Revised Mounting Kit

Fans
Scythe SY1225SL12SH 120mm "Slipstream" Case Fan

CPU Block
D-TEK FuZion v2 Extreme Performance CPU Block

Tubing

PrimoFlex Pro LRT UV Red Tubing- 1/2in. ID X 3/4in. OD

As for additives I'm still looking around. I'm looking for a blood/fire engine red to match my Blood Iron. I will do some case mods as well.

Any Suggestions and comments would also be helpful.

everything looks good to me.

Slipstreams are bad on radiators, either S-Flex series or Yate Loon. change the EK Waterblock to a Swiftech MCW60, full coverage water blocks add resistance to the loop and the cards memory comes into play if you are not volt modding the vMem or if the memory is Qimonda (doesn't overclock well) the copper BGA sinks that come with the MCW60 will do fine however the thermal pads on the BGA sinks arn't very good they usually fall off before they have the time to cure to speed up the curing process a blow dryer sometimes works if not you will have to purchase some double sided thermal tape or similar off Jab, Petra, Frozen or Sidewinder. I wouldn't recommend additives they are $10-20 and each brand is hit or miss they are either too strong and don't last long or too dull but last long, the tubing should be sufficient for color. enjoy and happy plunge :)

i would have to agree that the slip streams are bad on rads. i have those exact fans and prefer my yate loons when on rads. plus they sound like a frikkin jet engine @ full speed.

Hey all, thanks for the replies!

I did a search at the egg and couldn't find any Yate Loon fans.

As for the full sized gfx water block, i went with that because i plan to volt mod my gfx card in the future. As for resistance, im adding the graphics card on a separate loop that will have nothing to do with the CPU.

Is there any difference between the G80 and G92 GPU's. I have the G92 series of the 8800GT.

G92 have more shaders and are faster different manufacturing tec(i think) The 8800GT is a G92 never was it a g80 the GTS however there is a g80 and g92

here is some Yate Loons

I still wouldn't purchase a full coverage water block too expensive and inefficient. I hope this isn't some "looks better" attitude.

and there is a big difference between a G80 and G92.

it turns it into a full coverage water block. your memory is Qimonda I wouldn't bother do the vGPU mod and thats it.

would it be worth it to go full coverage?

picture 2 shot glasses one single and one double, which one takes longer to fill? by the way the MCW14 BGA sinks don't come with the Swiftech MCW60 anymore you have to buy them separately hence the new "MCW60-R" I guess.

do i run a risk of burning out the memory using air cooling, also are the sinks that come with the GPU block really good or are there better ones than those?

Also about the tape, would AS Creamtique work i know ive stuck things together with it.

most BGA Sinks are aluminum these are copper, copper handles heat better and aluminum handles heat faster. same principles for heatsinks on processors why they are copper pipes and not aluminum. for tapes check here
