Got a 3080Ti, BFv usage is low, CPU is high

The scheduler need to be run in CPU no matter what, AMD DX11 scheduler utilizes fewer CPU cores than Nvidia, thus require CPU with high single core performance whereas Nvidia scheduler require CPU with more cores and CPU resources
You can see how 6800XT get CPU bottlenecked with DX11 games at 1080p from the same 6800XT review:

So yeah Techspot is only exposing Nvidia CPU overhead problem while hiding AMD's, pretty typical of them really :), although they did say AMD still has DX11 overhead problem in their article, they are not providing any information regarding that.
BTW BFV DX12 is so crap no one is actually using anyways, as with any old game that support DX11/DX12 concurrently, they just better off running with DX11.

You are simply incorrect:

It's not like this is the first time someone's point this out. It's just now been verified by multiple official outlets now. AdoredTV noted the Nvidia driver overhead issues years back. I don't even like the guy but you have to give him credit for finding that.

I respectfully disagree. DX12 is great in BF1.

For 99% of people, DX12 in Battlefield V is terrible. Stutter mess. Even Wizz doesnt even use it for GPU reviews because of how broken it is. Only Frostbite game I have played where DX12 actually works fine is Battlefront.

Guys Dont go upgrading your cpus just yet!
I have a i7 6700K @4.5ghz and it wont go over 60% utilization, since i got my rtx 3070 ti.
My 3070 ti is only reaching 60-70% utilization (hence why im here)
Ive tried every possible setting in game and nvidia control panel settings that searches have to offer (and worked for me in the past).
Also my frames are the same as my old card (gtx 1080) @ about 110fps with mixed settings @1440p.

Oddly my gtx 1080 would make my CPU run at 100% all the time, but the new 3070 ti runs cpu at 60%.

I am not cpu bottlenecking now!
Id like some advice on how to get either Cpu or Gpu to get to 100% or at least to get my frames to cap at 144.

Any ideas?

I don't see how its a bottleneck unless you have data from bench tests indication lower FPS or less detail than the 1070. Especially if it's just one game.
Why would it run 100% if it's not needed

Wiz gets 180 ish FPS with a 3080Ti, I get 120 roughly in BFv.

And the main difference between our systems and game settings is literally just CPU.

With the 5900x you and 3080Ti you will not be disappointed.

yeah its going to be a ripper for sure. It comes mid July. Just need to figure out the board I want. Hoping more X570S boards come out in July, otherwise i will probably just bite the bullet and get the Hero Dark.

GPU usuage is 50-65%
CPU is 90-100% most of the time with dips in the 80s
totally normal.
i play BFV since it's out and it is prime95 in WW2...

Well i got a 5900x, and went from about 120-130 fps to basically maxing out the frames with the 200 fps limitter majority of the time.

GPU sits at 90-100% use now too.

5900x is a monster

You upgraded to a much faster gpu and your gpu utilization went down.

What am I missing here?

You could still be CPU bottlenecking even at 60% total CPU utilization. All that's needed is that the main core/thread is at 100%, the rest of the cores/threads could be at lower usage.
I played many games on my 5900x that I'm under 50% utilization in, yet I'm "CPU-bottlenecked" (GPU not fully utilized), this since few games fully use more than 6c/12t and I have double that.

Fully agreed, I play mainly older games and many of them are single threaded. I'm CPU-bottlenecked with a Zen2 CPU @ 4.5 GHz. A Zen3 CPU @ 5.0 GHz or a Rocket Lake @ 5.5 GHz would be likewise bottlenecked.
When your total CPU utilization goes over 50%, you are also being bottlenecked by your 1t performance. How much it will affect your gameplay mostly depends on your preferred frame rate.

My 5800x only gets about 26% usage but temps go to 80C. I usually don’t see this except rendering or other all core programs.
