I recently purchased an RX 580 2048SP and needed drivers, so I downloaded version 23.9.1. However, it's an older version, and I'm starting to experience issues in a few games. Is there a custom driver package specifically tweaked or made for this GPU that might offer better performance or stability?

Most of those 2048 SP cards need a different bios, also a good cleaning and thermalpad/paste replacement because of miners.

And what Games are you playing?

Drivers from 2024 here...

Previous drivers

Open GPU-Z and get a screenshot, then go to Advanced Tab, Select AMD Bios from the context menu and screenshot it, then go to memory timings and screenshot it please.

Oh boy the card is non respondent.

I suggest you remove the heatsink get a picture of a ram chip without a thermalpad please and a pic of the 215 number found on the metal frame surrounding the gpu die.

I forgot to mention what rx 580 2048sp i have it's is a Generic Rx 580, i got it for $70 cad locally so i don't know where it was bought.

I am gonna hope I took pictures of the right things. I’m going to put new thermal paste on as well when I put it together.

Yeah someone put a mining bios on that card because 0 0 for clockspeed and samsung reported in gpu-z but what physically is on the card is Hynix modules

Does it get me more performance If I flash a non mining bios if so how would I. I have never flashed a bios.

Your gpu is not operating at any clock speeds, so let me help you locate a bios that will help restore it's performance.

We are not flashing the motherboard bios, the gpu bios we will try but im seeing something.

Your Gpu core is:

215-0876406

Your card has:

8GB Hynix MJR GDDR5

Which is either a mining a RX-470 or a 1002 6FDF 1002 0B31 based RX 570 or 2048SP RX 580.

I see an ARX470- code by the pcie blade and video output mounting bracket in this photo below:

Can you please tell me what the last alphanumeric characters areafter the - by the ARX470-

Ok with that Im not turning up the 22 but what happens is PCBs tend to get reused, and 1002 6FDF 1002 0B31 is definitely a Vanilla Chinese market card, so let me track something down

im not gonna lie i just put my gpu in a rainbow six siege benchmark and just doing the thermal paste and driver gave me 30fps more than usual LoL

Since youre at it:

Open gpu-z again and click the black arrow next to the uefi checkbox and attempt to upload the bios to the VGA bios collection through gpu-z, you might get a prompt that the file is already in the collection with a link to it, copy and paste the link here.

If you don't get that prompt proceed to upload it to the vga bios collection then copy and paste that link here.

uhh I'm lost here, i gonna guess you mean igpu which i do have one
Ok make sure it is enabled for recovery operations, there is always a risk involved with reflashing a gpu.

ok i will double check if it works, I'm installing drivers right now my older 580 drivers broke the install somehow.

Before you install drivers its good to create a system restore point
