So I'm having a peculiar issue. I start up my pc, I can get to the login screen where I choose my profile, and as soon as I'm logged in, my entire screen turns into one giant artifact?

Could this possibly be a driver issue or is my card fried?
It seems odd to me that everything works all the way to the windows loading screen and profile selection and as soon as I'm in, it's craps out on me..

Anyone have this issue or know what's going on?
Thanks!

Try safe mode, uninstall the GPU driver, then try it again.

I'd say if it gets into safe mode, the card is probably fine.

Well I've booted into Safe Mode with no issues, but when I uninstalled the drivers and update, I get the same issue?

Unless you really love Win xp pro, I would suggest trying win 7. I'm running win 7 fine on lesser specs than you.

Win 7 is really pretty stable now, and I'd say faster than XP

It sounds like your card might be dying. Try reseating it and checking the GPU temperature with the nvidia monitor application.

I suggest installing the previous 314.22 drivers as the latest 320.18 have a few issues.

yeah first try to reseat the card-cleaning contact area too, check the temp
what about running the card without driver first, does it give artifact too
