gtx460 768 or 1gig

Well im bored again so im thinking of trading in board for pro version and my vaporx 5870 for 2 460s. Ive looked at benches and the 768 version still kicks my 5870 in the ass in sli, i game on 22inch at 1920x1080, so im wondering if the the 768 version will be good enough, ill have to dish out 175 after trade in or another 225 for the 1gigs.

More memory would be much more beneficial to you since you're gaming at 1080 (though any screen under 24" that supports 1080 is kind of a waste since the difference over 1680x1050 and 1920x1080 on that small of a screen is hard to tell apart).

You could get by with the 768mb version, but the lower memory could hinder you a bit on the more demanding games.

Now, if you're going to run in SLI, then that changes things. Sure the 1GB versions would give you that extra 5-10% boost in performance, but that really won't make or break a thing for you since most games will easily hit that 45fps or higher mark. An extra 2 to maybe 15fps for getting the 1GB cards won't really make much of a difference. At least in my opinion.

If you can afford to get the 1GB cards, do it. But if the cash flow is too tough to stretch like that, you'd get by just as well on the 768MB cards.

best price performance is 768 mb. if you can spare the cash get the 1 gb version
unless you run 2560x1600 the missing memory wont make a lot of a difference. check my reviews

Ok so im going to go with the 768s, what about the msi i posted about, is that anygood OC wise? My current board lets me do 4.0 but i dont need to hit that, 3.6/3.8 is fine

Just a quick advice.

Don't get the EVGA EE version, everyone is complaining about the noisy fan, I've it and it sound like a jet engine.

I wonder how it's gonna sound once I install the second GTX460

Its hard to find a review that mentions that ASUS cooler. It looks to be the same one they've used on the HD 5830 and HD 5850. I know every BIOS will have a different fan profile, but I wonder if we can extrapolate the fan noise by reading reviews of those two cards?
