Now we must all hold our breath and see what..."Nexgen Memory" actually means! God forbid it's HBM3, equally hilarity will ensue if it's GDDR(6).
DiRAM4 which is a 2.5/3D RAM which can operate at 512 gigabyte/s @ 0.6V, 1024 gigabyte/s @ 0.7V, and peaks out at 2048 gigabyte/s somewhere between 0.7V and 1.3V.

There is only three stacked architectures in use HMC(MCDRAM via Intel) by Micron, HBM by SK Hynix/Samsung, and DiRAM4 by Tezzaron/Globalfoundries;
etc. That is my guess. HBM2 capacity, with post-HBM3 bandwidth. It also has the lowest latency of all them at 15~22 ns tRC compared to 48 ns tRC for HBM and 50 ns tRC for HMC.

Agree, but soon NVIDIA will give us their next generation and 2070 will most likely be fine for comfortable 1440P gaming. 2080 will be in the 4K/VR segment.
So indeed AMD will be very late with Navi.

The issue I have with 4 Vega 32 chips (or even dual 64) is that Infinity Fabric only solves the connectivity problem. The PCB is not getting bigger. :)
Just look how much place a Vega needs with all the circuitry around it. They will have a hard time fitting dual 64 chips, and, assuming they'll succeed, what then? We'll be either back to multi-card setups or a new approach will be needed (like modular GPU systems built from separate accelerators - something NVIDIA is pretty much already doing for enterprise).

AMD delayed some stuff not the first time, but now they won't just be late. They might be too late.

I don't think there was a need to write such a long post about last years of GPU history. Nevertheless, welcome to the forum...

I find it somehow intriguing that lately (and I mean it: I noticed this today, but it might be happening for a few days already) we see quite a few new users starting their activity here from supporting AMD. These posts are usually very civilized - like your's - and at this point I'm not suggesting any fanboyism, let alone anything "organized". I'm just very sensitive to statistical irregularities...
I mean: what convinced you to join this forum and start with such a long post (it could have taken you 50 minutes or something like that)
You taking the piss, you post more essays then anyone, are more biased then most And have shares in intel and your calling it strange some are here to argue with you???.

Name a modular Nvidia gpu for enterprise and dont call a hbm modular i mean part of the core feature set, Amd are going to be first again ,as i told you before in another thread where you were waffling biscuits

And what's this codswallop
"The issue I have with 4 Vega 32 chips (or even dual 64) is that Infinity Fabric only solves the connectivity problem. The PCB is not getting bigger. :)

Navi - 7nm ................and you clearly have not seen a bare vega pcb , there's loadsa room and loads of potential to reduce size.

Plus thats some dumb shit, you can see the package of a gpu yeah but that's not its size , its die or four of them would Not be massive.

And this is still a stupid thread, i cant buy an effin itanium chip at my local pc shop have They been discontinued??.

Vega's not on shelves because they got sold, likely before the shops ever saw them but even the shop ones , for the money some will pay for 5000 units they couldn't be beat for mining and some do buy direct.

Now im joe blogs and i make the best tea bags in the land , i made a billion but week two they were gone and the tea bag machine cost me twice what I've earned to buy.
So do i now crack on and make as much, and as quick as possible or do i

Shut the shop , and start designing coffee bags.

Totally ridiculous.
