i'm going to be gaming at 1680x1050
so i don't think even 1 single 1GB card is necessary
might be getting a 1920x1080 monitor though..
so the crossfired HD 4770's are going to be my other choice if i decide to go 1920x
if i go 1680x then i'll go 512mb HD4870
i don't know why people always think extra rams only for high resolution and they see the benchmark and the different in performance between 512MB and 1GB in high graphical games or open world games , my friend games now become use more than 512MB ram at default resolution and high resolution specially you want play at 1680x1050 , so can check by yourself see games like (warhead , clear sky , GTA ) and you wan to crossfire two card with 512 ram's so you know in crossfire and sli only one ram will be read , so two card with 512 ram i think it is some kind of wasting , not now maybe but next games will tell you
