Howdy lads, How's it hanging?

Here I am looking to buy myself a nice auld mouse to make my gaming hand life more comfortable ^^

I'm currently using a laptop but I game on a table like a desktop, so i don't need a laptop style mouse! I want a good solid mouse that's comfortable and yet very good.

I really want to spend as little as possible but I would buy a better one if convinced!

I need a mouse for FPS\RTS\RPG gaming and must be comfortable to use!

So far, I have been browsing ebay and have come across the Anker 8200dpi gaming mouse:

Great price! But reviews have not been very kind to it for crap software and awkward button placements. But great price!

Logitech G500s is certainly on my wish list right now and it has great reviews for it also, bit pricey though but I could be swayed to get this!

Genius Gila GX Gaming mouse is the most expensive one that I'm eyeing up but it seems to offer a lot and I really like how it looks ^^

G500 gets my vote. I love mine and it was replacing a G5. It was like a perfect evolution from the G5

I had a G5 for years, amazing mouse. Still used today by the kids and wife.

I upgraded to a much more affordable Utech gaming mouse. It is still a good price on Amazon...not sure if they sell it up your way. But I've owned mine for a year now and it's been absolutely flawless. The only issue I ran into is Ubuntu older than 13.10 did not support it natively. That's a long-gone problem. I never installed the software that came with it...just plug and play. Great feel, adjustable weights to give it the right heft and a sensor as sensitive as you want within a couple clicks. All buttons have good feedback and it's been through a lot in the last year and hasn't wavered at all. Just keeps on going.

I highly recommend it. :toast:

Go Logitech at least they back theirs with a 3 year warranty and a good one too.. I personally sick of buying other gaming mice for them to fail after 3-14 months later.

Yes they are that bad and i am left-handed and Logitech don't do high end left-handed mice but like i said i am sick of all the other brands.

With the Logitech ones some you be able to check in some stores too like Staples too.

Yeah I still have my G5 the only thing wrong with it is the DPI switches seemed to have stopped working. Probably messed something up while cleaning it and frankly I never used them anyway but it was a good enough excuse to get a G500 I had the G5 since it was released. I also like the G500 DPI button placement, it's actually usable on the fly and the extra thumb button is also a nice evolution as well and they changed the shape a bit so it has a nice "pinky rest"

Another vote here for the G500 I used a friends and loved it. Only reason I don't have one is I am a god Damn lefty

I like the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical or Basic Optical Mouse. Cheap and last forever. I use a high end mousepad though (Corsair MM600)

The G500s gets my vote as well, I love mine. :)

I say spend a little more and get the g602. So accurate, you can't tell its wireless. Excellent battery life for a wireless also

I have a G700 from Logitech. Pretty sweet mouse even if you don't use the buttons.

+1 for the G602
I bought 2 of them and it is the best mouse I have ever owned.
Coming from a guy who has 3xMX1000 and 2x G9x

Went from the G500 (which I loved) to the G500s. Do not like it. The click is week. Just feels cheap

Another vote for the G5, It's an amazing mouse.

I have a Logitech Anywhere MX for my laptop, but I want portability and works on glass surfaces, rather than game.

Personally, I don't notice much difference between "gaming mice" and high-end desktop mice, but I am saving for a G700.

^ Gaming normally is more buttons (good to a certain degree) plus the looks.
I also LOVE the tiny Anywhere MX (5 buttons, enough for 99% of games), I often steal it from my wife : )

They don't make them anymore though. :(

But if you can find it, the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 is the best there is imo. If you can't find it, the logitech thing. I use a G400 at work and it's pretty good.

Thanks for all the advice lads! I was seriously considering the Logitech G500s as it was a good decent price online.

I decided to pop into PC World today and see if they have anything good there and they actually did!
I picked up a Roccat Kone XTD 8200dpi mouse for 79.99 :p

I loved how it looked and felt very good on my hands, I really was impressed and had to pick it up ^^

I'm using it now and bejaaaayziz I'm enjoying it! Very smooth to touch and a really expansive control panel too.

If it wasn't for this being there I would have bought the Logitech online. Hopefully I haven't made a mistake :p reviews are very good for this mouse too so I'm fairly happy!

Thanks lads.
