Help with AsRock 990FX Extreme3?

yes i had the same reason as you to get a 990fx. crossfireeee
small correction

first two slots are x16 and the 3rd one is x4

still, two slots is enough!

so i'll get full x16/x16 for crossfire? this will be amazing soon!

Correct! 990FX provides full 16x/16x Crossfire support. The latest version of the Gigabyte 990FX UD3 (rev. 4.0 iirc) should have no problem supporting 83xx chips out of the box.

Also, you may have trouble locating UD5 and UD7 boards due to the explosion in gpu mining recently- or if you do, the cost will be significant

Two 7870s will be enough for me though. Thanks!

I haven't located both UD5 and UD7 so far. I have only located UD3 and I'm still waiting for their response on what PCB revision is their stock. Yah those dudes are taking all AMD resources for mining. AMD should supply more! HAHAHAHA!

Best to get ud3 so you can avoid bandwidth sharing

UD7 looks nice..
CH5 is really the only board for AMD
Sabertooth is OK, too.

What do you mean by CH5?
Sabertooth here is expensive! HAHAHAHA

better get crosshair 5 (aka CH5) or sabertooth it will cost you less then my local price&shipping of ud5.

I haven't asked for Asus boards here in my region. I think same as the Gigabyte, no stocks due to mining.

@ne6togadno

Hey how about AsRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0? Is this a good motherboard for 8320/8350? My local retailer had this one.

it does not have x16 x16 crossfire. also not a good overclocker.

I don't plan to do OC since I don't know how to hehehe. Just going with stock setting all the time.

Yes that would be the problem the Crossfire capability since I will be doing Crossfire for future game titles :( I guess I will canvass again this day.

There is also one motherboard available, it's MSI 990FX-GD65. Is this a good board? I have noticed that is requires two power output for the VRM.

nooo; MSI has been having toruble with their power delivery with AMD systems.
try asrock, gigabyte, asus.
