Hi CPU Power Consumption During Boot But Normalizes Upon Restart

Hi guys, hoping someone here can help me with my concern. I noticed that when gaming after initially opening/booting up my laptop, CPU power consumption is relatively high (60 to 100+watts) and runs very hot (80 to 90+ degrees) even if i set these games to run using my dedicated GPU under the System>Display>Graphics settings. My Gpu Working Mode in Vantage is also set to "dGPU Mode".

The thing is that i noticed that if i restart my laptop and then run these games again, the power consumption of the CPU normalizes and never reaches higher than 50watts and CPU temperature is only on the 70+ degrees range. This results to a much lower temps which is what i prefer.

My question is that why is my laptop behaving like this? Is there a way for it to behave on how it was without needing for me to restart my laptop everytime i open it (even if i just literally opened/booted it)? Based on my observation (which you can also see in the posted pictures), clock speeds of both GPU and CPU is lower upon restart which i dont mind since the fps loss is usually only -10fps and it greatly outweighs the much lower temps.

Additional information of my unit are as follows: I use the Performance in Thermal Mode of Lenovo Vantage; I undervolted my CPU using Throttlestop; I undervolted and overclocked my GPU using MSI Afterburner. Settings of my Throttlestop are as follows:

Hoping someone here can help me with my issue since its kind of a hassle to always restart my laptop upon literally opening it just for it to behave the way i wanted it to. Thank you! :)

Use ThrottleStop 9.7.2

Open the FIVR window of the new version and press the V/F Point button. On the right hand side, set V/F Point 1 for both the core and the cache to 150. The value you enter into the V/F Point window is a positive value. Do not use a + sign. Just enter 150.

This trick has allowed many 14900HX owners to reliably increase their P cache undervolt. You will need to retest your CPU. I have a 149000HX and it is 100% stable with the CPU Core and CPU P Cache both set to a negative offset of -150 mV. That can help reduce temperatures.

When you run Vantage and ThrottleStop together, there might be times when ThrottleStop is in control of the turbo power limits and there might be times when Vantage sets its own power limits. I do not own a Lenovo laptop so I have not done any compatibility testing of this.

The new version of ThrottleStop lets you create profiles with different power limits. I would set up a second profile in ThrottleStop. Set MSR PL1 and PL2 turbo power limits both to 100. If this still creates too much heat, try using 80. If you want more performance, try using 120. Check both Clamp boxes in the MSR Power Limit Controls section so these limits are enforced.

The default 140W and 190W power limits will create more heat than most laptops can dissipate. Lowering these limits should help put you in control.

Hi Uncle! Apologies for the late revert. Still no luck. Now it wont normalizes even if i restart my laptop. its still running with my CPU racking up to 90W.

Edit: I have tried resetting the games preference in the System>Display>Graphics and then re-selecting the High Performance option. Now its working fine after i restarted. Does this mean that this is an issue on how my laptop uses the CPU instead of the GPU when gaming? I have set the "dGPU Mode" in the Vantage Software for reference.
