How many are using 24h2? Problems still?

Did you update to 24h2? How did it go?

That's your problem. Do your own testing. I've done mine and my result did NOT match his. I trust my results more. Not alone either. I can't find the article W1z did that shows there is minimal differences, however, Techspot has one. As much as I dislike Steve Walton, he got it right.
Tomshardware did a similar set of tests as well as a number of others, all with the same results: Win 10 and Win 11 are on par with each other.

Whatever testing Brian did, he got something wrong. Don't know what it is, don't care what it is, his number don't match everyone else's. He's got to figure out what he did wrong.

We are almost in 2025 - those tests are obsolete now because many updates have been released.

Also those are only on Intel CPU's. For Intel the difference in performance is not significant, for Ryzen is a different story.

Seriously? Maybe you missed something...
Do your own testing.
...hmmm

I'm pretty sure you didn't notice that in most of the cases, 1% lows are way better on Windows 10.
In most of the cases, results are within the margin of error, and there were plenty of times when Windows 11 came out on top, including 1% lows.

Also I was talking more about 23h2 / 24h2, not 22h2.
What you said was "Windows 11 was gimped for 2-3 years". 23H2 has only been out for just over a year. 24H2 came out this year and the Ryzen improvements were included since release.

While Windows 10 (22H2) and Windows 11 (23H2 w/ Patch) deliver essentially equivalent performance, Windows 11 24H2 actually outperforms both of them on newer Ryzen CPUs.

You don't mention weird frame-time issues (and actually I have yet to find a reviewer covering this kind of stuff) which I also experience, especially in CS2 / Dota 2. Having "more" FPS doesn't mean that much.

updated my VR rigg on Friday and no problems so far, i think VR is running a tad better after the update.

Maybe the reason you don't see this is because it's not actually a Windows 11 issue. It really sounds like you have something going on with your system, that you're having all of these odd issues that don't align with most other people's experiences.

I just upgraded my system with a RTX 4080 from a 5800X3D to a 9800X3D and didn't experience any frame-time issues before or after. My backup system with a RTX 2080 and a overclocked Xeon E5-1660 V3 (i7-5960X equivalent) is doing great also despite the age of the hardware and having used a requirements bypass when installing Windows 11.

Also that specific KB patch fixed some Ryzen 9xxx issues BUT also improved Ryzen 5xxx performance which proves my point that Ryzen was basically gimped.

What flaws? He is literally comparing some Windows versions and the results are very clear for me.

Why it is so hard for people to accept what Windows 10 just has at least / better performance in gaming than Windows 11 (at least for Ryzen CPU's) - especially in 1% lows.

Note that besides these videos comparing FPS, there are also some frame-time issues which are hard to pin point / track / prove.

I especially have these issues in Dota 2 / CS2, but mostly on Windows 11. Windows 10 is way smoother for me. Like i said same drivers / configs etc
Lows depend on many things, but in this case the problem is not Windows.
As lexluthermiester tells you, if you have enough things running in the background, the lows will drop.

For me 24H2 has been stable with no crashes on Intel 7 gen. Had to do a fresh install maybe 3 days ago (was not offered in updates). Also upgraded to faster SSD so I cannot comment on speed. I am still slowly installing some apps I use every few weeks. Nothing negative to say. Don't even know if recalled is on by default, but I will disable/destroy/nuke that the moment I see any activity.

Tried everything. I'm sure sure if this is already in the thread but I'm leaving this here:

Some of these things are fixed, not sure about all of them.
But he did make these videos before 24H2 where the fixes appeared.
Yes, Windows 10 comes with less junk, so it needs less tweaking. So if that's your point - well, W10 is "better".

If I recall correctly, Ryzen patches were applied to 23h2 and even backported to Windows 10 22h2.
Yes, there was a patch for 23H2, but I'm not sure it was ported to Win 10 because support for it has ended.

Only security updates.
Exactly. This is one of the many reasons why I find the whole "Windows 10 vs Windows 11" argument irritating and a waste of time. If I'm going to consider an OS that is no longer being given fixes for bugs/glitches/etc, eff Windows 10, I'm going back to an OS that was actually good, Windows 7. Windows 10 is dead to me for OH SO MANY reasons.

Windows 11 is one of the worst in terms of junk by "default" . Widgets are constantly consuming CPU time and this will always lower FPS (as an example), so you need to clean it up and tweak it.
Pfff you need to tweak WIndows XP for best FPS... What's the point? Are you going for benchmark records?

Sometimes, newer is not actually better.
So true. I am a diehard Windows 7 fanboy and until someone brings out something that surpasses it in every way, I will remain so.

Can't argue much with that.

Oh, that is one of the many things I disable or delete.

It would seem there are more issues related to the 24H2 update that do not seem to happen with a fresh install.

I've not seen any or had any problems so far from running the 24H2 update both Starfield and Cyber Punk 2077 run rather well after the update but I've bought a new NVMe SSD so I'm planning on a clean install and I'll see how that goes compared to the update version

Look at my Windows 11 issue here... this is something unexplainable for me, same drivers, same settings, bloatware removed, all chipset drivers up-to date and drivers in general, bloatware removed.

This is micro-stuttering in CS2 on Windows 11 24h2. On Windows 10 22h2 everything is smooth...

Imgur posts don't load for everyone... Please attach screenshot directly in the post.
Nevermind, it finally loaded. What are we talking about in that video?

I was showing you some abnormal behavior that I get mostly / only on Windows 11.

In the video above , you can see the frame-time @ 4.5ms normally then randomly jumps to 30 ms while playing, basically producing a mini-freeze / spike in-game.

Ok have you figured out what's causing it? A video is not solid evidence without more info and comparisons..

Below is the comparison between Windows 10 22h2 vs Windows 11 24h2. Same environment, same settings, same drivers. Bloatware removed.

VIDEOS

Can't figure this one out. For me is just Windows 11 which has this BUG with frame-times.
