Actually, an older home. I ran everything I needed. Being in construction has it's perks.

yeah considering some homes that Are fiber to prem for att have only 2 cat5 jacks and that blows due to rg placement. (UVERSE)

(Always easier to run lines on a frame than in a home fully built).

Older homes with narrow attics i cant reach most spots due to central ac being in way had flooring put in.

Just curious how many computers we have in our homes.

When I say computer, I mean something capable of running a full desktop OS, either Windows or Linux or OSX and I guess Windows RT(but not Windows Mobile). And I'm talking computers that are actually connected and are used somewhat regularly, say at least once a month. And, what do you use the computers for?

My Desktop
My Laptop
Wife's Desktop
Wife's Laptop
Bedroom HTPC
Living Room HTPC
Media/File Server
Backup Server

That makes 8 for me.

So, I can't count my Ti-99/4a s? :( Sniff

Out of curiosity, why in the world 2 HTPC's? One in the bathroom?

Probably for the same reason I have 2. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. The wife likes to fall asleep with the TV on, so she uses the one in the bedroom a lot. I also have a media streaming box(Xios DS) in the spare bedroom for anyone that comes and visits.

Same here. One in the living room and all bedrooms

My desktop, my laptop, my pop's laptop, my sister's old laptop, my sister's new laptop, a family desktop, and a media desktop.

My rig (in specs)
My fiancé has a Gateway gaming laptop and Frankenrig in the siggy block
HTPC in living room
Server in siggy block, which is a data repository, does automatic backups, and streams media
My youngest son's PC, which is last century (LOL), but he games pretty well on it. -For those interested, it's a QX9650 o/c to 3.7Ghz cooled by a Hyper 212 on a GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard with 8GB of DDR2-1066 and a GTX-580

No one has just one

Ye gods people really do that, do people really hate themselves so much they have to be "entertained" 24/7? Because that is the only reason I can think of. And for visitors? Isn't the point of visitors to have them visiting, ie spend time with you? "Wonderful dinner, my best friend I saved from that burning wreckage and whos sister I married, but I really have to watch the Big Bang Theory rerun now. There's a guy in the laughing track that is HILARIOUS! Then Oprah's on."

A) I am old fashioned and biased and live in a walled in garden.
B) Scientology ain't got nothing on the fusion of entertainment and technology.
C) No shit life is shit.
D) All of the above.

I mean wow.

7 at the moment.

My main (crunching/folding)
My cruncher/folder
Wife's desktop (cruncher)

Of course this doesn't count the insane number of nostalgic partial systems and full systems.

I probably have 15+ socket 462, 939, P3, P4, and socket 7 systems.

from those only 7 are connected and ready to be used at any time, the others in storage
