First, I apologize if this is in the wrong section. Secondly, I am considering selling my system and picking up a decent laptop. I rarely play super new games anymore and I haven't upgraded my computer since I got a Ford Mustang. I am greatly out of the tech market, so I am not sure what to ask for my system.

Specs are:

Intel Core2 Duo E5200
4GB G.Skill DDR2 800
Asus P5Q-Pro
PNY Geforce 8800GT 512MB
Thermaltake Toughpower 750W
Raidmax Sagitta Case
Arctic Freezer Pro 7
Saitek Eclipse Keyboard
Razor Diamondback 3G mouse
Acer AL2223W 22" Monitor.
LG Lightscribe DVD burner
Seagate 300GB SATA HDD.

I still have the original boxes for most of this stuff too if it matters.

And I was looking at this laptop

You might IMO get around $500 bucks because you are adding in the monitor and everything else. But you would probably fair better off if you pieced out the system. People who can build their own systems would rather buy piece by piece.

Unless you find the right buyer that is what I would do. But if you are willing to take a price cut because as you said it is not your most important thing anymore. Then I would try to sell it for about $500 to $600 and go from there.

$650 local buyers, $550 here @ TPU. Probly close to $600 if parted out.

+1, I think thats a pretty spot on guesstimate.

as for the laptop you want to get, I think you can get better, something with as good or newer/better gfx card, and definitely try for an i5 over the dated C2D.

EDIT:

heres one for $750, core i5, ddr3 and 360m

and heres one for $899 with an i7, ddr3, and mobility 5730 (roughly same league)

My only problem with that laptop is how small the screen is. Otherwise it looks nice. What do you think the breakdown on prices would be if I split it up?

Could always keep the monitor and use it with the laptop, and if you are gaming on the laptop then keep the mouse too. just my 2cents

Yeah, I would keep my mouse, but the whole point of getting a laptop is having the mobility.

Specs are:

Intel Core2 Duo E5200 $50
4GB G.Skill DDR2 800 $70
Asus P5Q-Pro $70
PNY Geforce 8800GT 512MB $50
Thermaltake Toughpower 750W $50
Raidmax Sagitta Case $45
Arctic Freezer Pro 7 $15
Saitek Eclipse Keyboard $25
Razor Diamondback 3G mouse $30
Acer AL2223W 22" Monitor. $125
LG Lightscribe DVD burner $17
Seagate 300GB SATA HDD $25

Thats a rough estimate as to what I would pay for each. All prices include shipping to ConUS except for the monitor, case & psu.

I can understand that dislike, my 15.6" is a little on the small side, the upside however is, since it is also a smaller res, its easyer for that gfx card to fill, hence higher FPS at native res and IMO a better gaming experience for a laptop, especially as time presses on.

I lied. PSU could go up to 65 and hdd up to 30.
