How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Long live anatolymik!

Hi Friends!
I keep working on it. I dont want to give up. I'm sorting out something. And i wait for answer from Sveetsnelda. In fact he's a hero of SLIPatch! :) He finds in what protection is. I make injection in windows kernel to fool the driver. But for now, the driver is fooling us

OK, keep up the good work, both of you. Don't hesitate to post any request here, for testing patches and/or configs.

Thank you!

ok quik update,

im running the M4A79 deluxe with the 790 chipset, i ran the SLI patch 0.8b,but once i reboot i get the sli oprion for boot and hit it,

it then goes straight to start up repair, any ideas guys?

only 257.21 driver is most stable.......................don't install latest one

ok im up and running, ASUS M4A79 Deluxe 790FX chipset, 2 x GTX470 SLI

the problem was when i was installing the sli patch it was writing over my already complex boot from separate partitions, confusing windows as to boot partition.

anyways some intitial results

Uniengine Heaven Benchmark

Single GTX470
FPS 39.8

Max FPS 153.6

:twitch:

scaling looks pretty good, and all this on an un optimized win 7 instal, going for a nap now, and will optimize this set up, when i awake.

i will post some bench pics too :nutkick:

Hi Friends!

Can anybody install x32 windows and test patch with latest driver?

I just tested Win XP Pro 32bit SP3 with all the latest updates, SLI patch 0.7a, and Nvidia driver version 258.96. I get the blank screen at 15 minutes while gaming.

My system...Asus Maximus Formula X38, 2 x 8800GTX. I will also try setting up a test hard drive with Win 7 32bit and try things out...it'll just take a little bit of time to get it going.

Anatolymik, any light in the tunnel??? :)

still working on getting sli to work properly on a tpower i45 board....so far I have freezes in games or stuttering and/or it recovers or it just requires a restart and totally stops responding, sometimes giving me a black screen or white screen so it's frustrating it enables sli and seems to work but stability just isn't there...so I'm still testing not sure what the issue is yet, currently just installed 257.21 drivers since I saw post that they are most recent stable drivers...see if crysis works with that, for that game I noticed tanked the quickest so makes it good to test this hack with.

:)working. i haven't x58 platform to find out directly. i takes time.

im getting an x58 setup today, if you need anything, i would be happy to help out

Hello from Germany, my English is not so good my German is better (<- Joke from Lothar Matthäus).

I came into your forum at this Sli hack and tried it out immediately.
I Have a Q6600@3,6Ghz and Asus Maximus Formula II and Tried it with 2 Nvidia 480GTX.
I Have the 257.21 and the Sli Patch 0.8b.
If Works Fantastic with Sli but sometimes in the Windows Mode get i a Bluescreen, when i the Cards under 3d Load test come never a Bluescreen.

What is that problem and have one the same problem?

Sorry my English ist not so god i hope everywhere can read this.

I got Question here

I knew most stable driver now is 257, can I just update SLI profile from geforce alone which includes some new games like lost planet 2?

Does it work with old driver like 257?

Thanks

I tried that (downloaded the sli update from EVGA) didn't work. The DX9 works fine, but the DX11 fps is half of what a single card can do.

Cool. Good news. Dx11 does not show much difference from DX9 by the way, as long as it is still working for DX9/10. it is all good

I've been playing around with the 259.47 drivers and have been able to game and run benchmarks such as:

- Unigine Heaven 2.1: Some artifacting at first, but finished the test 3 straight times.
- Lost Planet 2 Benchmark: Test A, and Test B on DX11 no problems run multiple times.
- Played BFBC2 for an hour and no crashes, artifacts, problems.

When I run Vantage halfway through New Calico I'm getting BSOD. Something about "Uncached Area" in BSOD.

I'm going to run Vantage again and write down what it says. Hopefully this will help anatolymik.

EDIT: Update: I just got it to run through Vantage. Driver stopped responding at the end of the Physx Test but still posted a score. Maybe something with the Physx? Wouldn't explain the 2 BSOD's I got during New Calico test though.

Sounds good news.

Glad to hear more game test from you later

Sorry guys bad news... Was just cruising the internet and had a full system lockup, had to hard reset. Worked for a few hours, I'm back to 257.21. I can't fathom why the drivers would work for a while and with no change to software or hardware suddenly lock up the system.

It seems that when I got the BSOD it was happening during CPU heavy parts of stress, and the Physx part of Vantage. Maybe has something to do with the driver over-allocating cpu cache? (or something like that, I'm not sure how it works, but the BSOD was CACHE related)

Here's a question though: When I ran Driver Sweeper this time I decided to have it look for "Nvidia Chipset" remnants, which it found quite a few. I am wondering if I let Driver Sweeper delete those would it delete the SLI Patch? I assume it does considering they are all registry files, but on the off chance one doesn't have to do with another... Anyone have an idea?
