I'm having tons of issues with SliPatch 1.2 on the 266.58 drivers.

I'm trying to setup nvidia surround with 3 23inch LCD's- which works great on the desktop, and most games at 1920x1080, but any time I try and adjust the resolution to the full width to use the other two monitors, the machine hard resets, no blue screen or anything.

I've reinstalled windows and such, and I cant figure out whats going wrong.

The specs for the machine are listed on the side. :)

How to enable 4 Way SLI on Supermicro X8DTG-QF or equal server board?

Hello esteemed Members,..
i'm Jeff and was glad to read others saw the multiplied potential of 4way SLI on multi-QuadcoreCPU's server boards. The Z8PE-D12/18 and Tyan S7025 the Supermicro X8DTG-QF are ideal boards for 4 Way SLI and i hoped after reading this thread that any of them had SLI successfully enabled and that someone could please tell me how?, ie: which SLI Patch, HALMod, SLIStringInstaller and steps were used for successful SLI and 4 Way SLI on the X8DTG-QF or any 4 PCI-E x16 server boards?
I've pasted the last X8DTG-QF thread entries below as refresher and thank you all for any help you've time for as soon as possible.
Really looking forward,
Jeff: danceman@shaw.ca

hi danceman,

Had no luck in getting SLI working and put that on pause since I had other things to do with computer. Got myself a second SLI bridge in case first was faulty, but didn't take the time to try it. Will post here if I get any news anyhow.

How to enable 4 Way SLI on Supermicro X8DTG-QF or equal server board?

Hello DroneHive,..
really appreciate your reply. To bad after all the effort you put in that SLI was'nt enabled on such a killer board. I assume you've tried SLIPatch_v1.2_beta.exe to no avail? Hope the second bridge is the answer and/or Anatolymik, TiN_ or derGhostrider have some.
Hope to talk soon,
thanks again,
Jeff

DroneHive,..
PS: I asked about your trying SLIPatch_v1.2_beta.exe because of Anatolymik's Mar.16 post of successully enabling Server SLI pasted below...

anatolymik

Just finished work session with RVC. Huge thanks to him. For his help. Bug fixed and he successfully enabled sli on server board. SLIPatch 1.2 beta coming soon. Thanks!

danceman,
with SLIPatch 1.2 beta I could enable SLI on my Tyan s7025. However, running games or benchmarks caused severe problems with the 267.91 driver.

I assume you are using four single-gpu cards? This could work for you if tou use an older driver. I'm however stuck myself because only the newer drivers support GTX 590 and Quad SLI.

Thanks Ahu,..
thats really good news your SLI was enabled on such a great board. Sorry all that speed/power is frustrated by any video problems.
I have'nt confirmed these work to fix vid prob's but definitely worth a try esp. B):
A)
SLI_Enhancement.zip = sli_enhancement_38.exe
EVGA has now released the 32nd SLI Enhancement Patch which is specifically aimed towards multi-GPU (2-way, 3-way or 4-way SLI) users who like to try out the latest games around. This new version is based on the GeForce 260.63 beta driver
B)
nHancer64_2.5.9_Setup.exe
"..Game was all choppy and..hardly playable. Then I read..was only able to get SLI to work by using NHancer. Most Settings high..and very high the game runs so perfectly smooth.."
INSTRUCTS:
- Install 190.38 Driver
- Install SLI Patch from Nvidia
- Install NHancer and set SLI mode to AFR - default set to 4 Way SLI.
- Use -winxp -maxmem=2047 in your desktoplink
C)
SLI_Update_v5.exe
for PCs with more than one NVIDIA GPU (and with SLI or multi-GPU enabled) these updates boost the performance in the applications listed.
D)
Xeon 5520 mobo's SLI:
"..with dual GTX285's..i got Sli to work on Supermicro X8DAi and Supermicro X8DAH+-F though i must point out that i could not get either to work with the SLIStringInstaller v1.81 using the Supermicro button and had to resort to using the Hal Mod followed by SLIStringInstaller v1.81 and using the Asus button."
HalMods, SLSStringInstallers:http://www.derghostrider.de/drivermod/ AND http://xdevs.com/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.30

"I assume you are using four single-gpu cards?"
I was hoping to use 4 Dual-gpu GX2 9800's if possible?

1) Which gpu cards did you use or suggest with your S7025?
2) using the SLIPatch 1.2 beta we're there any other steps required besides regular install to enable SLI and...
3) if/how the S7025 operated in 4 Way SLI?
4) also, have you patched any other equal server boards and if you think the Asus Z8PE-D12 could be SLI patched?
Thanks again,
Jeff

The maximum number of GPU's for SLI is 4, so you can't use all 4 GX2 cards in SLI. You can only use 2 via a SLI bridge in Quad SLI configuration. You can however use all 8 GPU's for GPGPU tasks such as Folding@Home. I'm actually considering getting at least one additional GTX 590 card :D

The GTX 590 is the only Nvidia card I've used on this board. Before this I had two HD5970 cards on this board, but they just wouldn't suit my needs.

Thanks for the suggestions, I might try those. I haven't put much effort on getting SLI to work as it's not my main priority. Using the SLI patch was extremely easy: just run the patch and reboot with the default SLI patch boot menu option and you're done. This was all that was needed for me to enable Quad SLI from the Nvidia control panel.

The server boards you mention seem to based on the Intel 5520 chipset, which has been reported to work with the SLI patch.

Tryed newest 270.51 also, won´t work with 3DVision either.
Worked OK till 267.24 and SLI patch 1.2b.
Must be the new security added by NVIDIA to the drivers.

Are you using WHQL drivers or the new beta ones? People have been having lots of issues with the betas.

The driver have all the latest sli profiles and optimisations, tested Dragon Age 2 and Homefront all running very smooth :D

Btw it's for the GT 520 only, so install with a mod inf.

Perhaps verify your power supply is large enough for 2 260's from their specs and/or manufacturer recommendations.

thanks for the replies.
I tried all the patches and sli string installer
i tried a bunch of drivers (right now i have 266.58 installed WHQL)
i do have sli bridge
the power supply it says it is SLI ready (it is an ULTRA X4 600w)

the bfg gtx 260 require 2 pcie power connectors ( my psu comes with only two, so I used 2 converters for the 2nd card).

I have the latest bios ... I switched the cards in between, i switched the power connectors with the same result ... it freezes right before the windows 7 logo starts to appear (i can only see a red dot from the logo).

I am curious if anybody ran into this issue.

You shouldn't need the string installer, I have your motherboard and ran sli just fine with 266 drivers and slipatch 1.2

What wattage is your psu?

nevermind, just saw your PSU listed.

Whats the other specs of the system?
Have you tried just one card in both slots to see if its a bad slot, or a bad card?
