How to remove this spring screw?

This is a type of spring screw, but the question is how do I remove it??
It is holding my GPU heatsink in place and I have no idea how to remove it, in order to gain access to the GPU for it to be repasted.

That screw looks pretty messed up...
Maybe the only way is to drill it out carefully, however finding another exact screw is another thing..

Cut a slot in it with a Dremel tool using a thin cutoff wheel then unscrew it with a straight blade screwdriver.

I've removed many stripped Phillips head screws by cutting a slot in them. That also enables you to still use the screw. Invest in a good set of screwdrivers and you won't be having problems like this again. I've been using Snap-On screwdrivers for decades.

either slot it. or based on the pics, it seems like you could grab it & get a quarter turn with a pair of pliers.

This looks just too simple to unscrew with any pliers .No professional needed .Time to upgrade your diy skills

Just grip the head of screw from top either horizontal or vertical which ever angle has most space/grip and few half turns

I usually use flat heads for that kind of thing. Apply pressure and turn gently.

If it gives you too much trouble, a screw extractor would probably make quick work of that.

If all fails - borrow a dremel tool with a cutting disc and cut a little notch across the top then use a flat head screwdriver and just unscrew at your own leisure.

needle nose pliers, biggest you can get in there to get a good grip on the screw head. a 2-3 inch pliers are just going to slip so don't use those. Goal is simply just to break the screw loose enough that you could use a screwdriver to work it out the rest of the way without it slipping.
