I was asking if you can prove this just because, yor cpu as a grafic processor inside
and maybe is this working, and not the quadro. something like gpu_z is better.
I think you have tried the card separatley one o one and both are working right?
Well i can't understand why is not working on my system, i have tried to patch
whit sli cert. no way. I need to try on some p67/x58 chip to have absolutley
certainty it work.
Other try ,and i'm serching for that, is flashing whit pny bios, the card
if there are hp restriction, this can solve the problem.

Yes, my CPU does have the graphic processor inside. But using P67 chipset will diactivate the GPU. Only chipset with H67 will enable the internal GPU. Yes, both card are working within the same machine. Just cannot SLI. I've tested both card on a HP Z800 workstation with the same SLI Bridge and it can SLI successfully.

What is your actual problem? With a single FX4800 card, you are not able to boot up your x48 system?
A single card doesn't require and Cert. Only SLI requires the cert.

As for PNY BIOS, I did googled around but can't find any. If you do, please let me know, I would like to try that method too.

So you have access to Z800! good machine!
maybe whit some other main you can run sli, like evga...etc.
for my need one card running is enough!
Yes i'm able to boot system, but i receive error on install driver!
some time windows (7 x64) install WMI driver and on restart
i receive monitor error "input not supported". Then i restart to
safe mode i clean driver etc...
on devmgmt it shows quadro fx 4800, i have tried several driver, every time fail on display driver installation! VEN ID and DEV are correct on regedit, so i'm thinking on incompatibility or maybe on some OEM cert the card not find?!
i have try your bios ver and 08 one ( support for 7 ultimate), but no way!
I want try this card on some hp/other system to see if run!
Any suggestion much appreciated!

Are you having the same card as mine? Have you tried the card on another system? Could it be faulty?
Another thing you can try is to flash the card BIOS. There are 3 different version of BIOS in HP website.

Hi,

I have quadro 4800 working (linux) on an Asus board.
You do not state which OS you have?

(I have the problem that I have several of these 4800 but I can not SLI them since even my mobo is SLI certified it is not Quado SLI certified which seems to be a different thing, and I can not find a Quado SLI certification string.

Sorry to hear this .
My question is when will people learn ? You are risking killing the video card any time you FLASH a video bios .
I hope you can fix it . Unless you saved the original bios and can blind flash it back to that I think you have a paper weight now .

What have to learn exactly??
I have a card, HP, and HP have some block to make this card only work on HP WS.
Now i have find a BIOS for the exact same card!! And i have flashed whit the right tool,
from dos, the card! I have flashed much and much mainboard bios, laptop and desktop,
i have made much custom bios for main, i have also flashed my htc phone 1001 time at week,
so i know what flashing a bios is!!!!
So i'm not expert whit grafic card flash, and i'm find answer like.
Okay try this switches, or what eeprom model is or you can try this or that, you also can change your eeprom on this way, or try to read this, etc.....
So thank you for responding, to me , and yes i have the ORIGINAL bios for this card
And no need to blind flash since i have other card (ati)
so Have you please some tecnical advice for me?

Yes do not flash your video cards . But if I were you I would still try to get the original bios back into that card then try flashing it back to what you want .

Dear trickson,
phisically this card is new! The processor, chips and circuit, still intact.
Bios is storate on EEPROM ( Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory)
is the same chip on much enbended system, smartphone, mainboard, etc....
When developer, developing i.e bios table, something can goes wrong, for this reason
they use on smartphone word, a HW called JTAG, connected from some little pin, to PC and
EEPROM OR NAND, this allow to always recovery the device, this HW is interfaced whit a SW suite, debugger sdk and various tools for working whit!

Why you say to me , Yes do not flash your video cards??

Anyway if someone whit knowledge, and kindness needed to help others, need some info, here the output of
the version 5.100 of nvflash executed whit c switched return;
Adapter: Quadro FX 4800 (10DE,05FE,10DE,0594) H :--:NRM B:01,PCI,D:00,F:00
EEPROM ID (C2,2011) : MX MX25L1005 2.7-3.6V 1024Kx1S, page

You can flash your card, but make sure you backup the old one and have a spare video card to reflash in case it goes wrong.

As for the video card being locked to HP workstation; I am not sure. In the past, HP used to lock their workstations to particular video cards, but not the other way around.

What errors are you getting when installing the drivers? From where are you installing the drivers? Post a screen shot of GPU-Z, maybe we can point you to the right direction.

OK that thread was started BECAUSE i have already flashed the card and was a bad flash!
backup, other adapter, are here!
The reflash wasn't succesful, still black screen :(

location size type
000000 :00FBFF 64512 x86

i also can dump the table, whit d switches so the EEPROM still readable

What swetches can i use to try reflashing?
nvflash 5.100 version
Original Bios from HP and a backup (.bin)

But since you can not recover it would seem that some thing went terribly wrong and now you can not re-write to the EEPROM . Keep trying to re-flash but I think you fried that card . This is why I say do not flash video cards . I have done it myself in the past a lot but after toasting 4 cards learned that it is best to keep them as they are . If the card is locked ( I think it is ) then by flashing it you fried it .

Something happen when reflash, this mean the bios version change, and nvflash can read
whitout problem the table.
Probably you are right, and graphic card flashing is to dangerous, anyway right now
I have to try everithig!!
i'm pretty sure HP, preventing in some way the flashing of other brand bios, and i'm pretty sure to THEY (HP) can restore card in max. half minute.

The lesson we (should have) learned, to not flush the bios of a video cards, especially if it is an expensive (>$1K) one.

How the flashing being done?
You have a machine with one FX4800 and another graphic card or just single FX4800?
Try to do this on another machine with other brand/model graphic card. Then flash it again using HP FX4800 flash bios program?

Thanks for your tips! but hey i know how disable uac

This HP think is something I try to understand, since the HP machine does not even have a SLI certificat and quadro SLI just works, so the drivers seems to look for more/other things
then just a certificat.
