Of course, if games a person plays only involve shooting and no story, no chance of this happening. It just depends on the type of game for it to be even possible.

Some games have touching moments and music scores go a long way to make it more tangible. It's funny how a soundtrack can pluck the emotional cords.

When I got the shit ending in the Witcher 3, I didn't cry but it actually ruined my day. I had to explain to my wife when she came home why i was so dejected (I made a post in the games thread here). I was gutted and I went to work the next day in a really bad mood - total downer. I wasn't down because I got the bad end but because I was expectant for a great result - a happy ending and my game world collapsed and it was just so tragic. Obviously, I had to go back through and replay it to get the happy ending with jangly bells on it.

I've just recalled that SOMA had some really sad moments - I think that brought a tinge of sadness over me. Genuinely awesome and emotional ride that one.

As for the game, yes, I would recommend to play it, not because of the graphics but story and decision making.

And on a serious note:

I was a suicidal person, and many times tried to end my life out of depression, one of them was trying to jump off the high place. The scene of Kate on the dormitory roof reminded me of what would happen to me if the one who became very important to me in my life did not come to meet me and save me in time. I do not know if men actually do not cry like many people said, but that scene alone is more than enough to made me shead tears and stop playing to think about my life and everything that has happened to me. I am still a man, just a very broken and fragile one.

I played it, and I remember what happened earlier in the game. Although it has nothing to do with my personal life, it was a sad thing to experience in one's life. A great loss.
