it says it Fix, speed up and protect my pc automatically but how good is it from your experience, I'm using superantispyware I hope I'm ok but I can try something else too.

TotalCare says no need to upgrade pc when I'm using this product.

I'm a bit skeptical of those "speed-up-your PC" programs, as they are often loaded with stuff you don't need. System Mechanic looks like it's safe to use, if you want some more information take a look HERE

well i am more than skeptical about those "usefull" software ... i always use nothing else than AVAST as a AV on all my rigs and no "autocleaner", i do a CCleaner scan and clean sometime and my PC is fresh and smooth as the 1st day just after install ...
for me companies who make soft like that p.o.c are just taking advantage of people who don't know how to use a computer (not talking about the OP but in a more general manner )

TotalCare says no need to upgrade pc when I'm using this product.
excuse me? ... if they mean software, yes you will always need to install win updates as they are most of the time more usefull than SMTC, if they mean hardware... well ... aherm ... nah they can't mean that ... it's too illogical

If you are seriously not trolling...then I can say for sure any of these types of products are Garbage. If you have serious enough problems that would even warrant using this type of product then I would recommend a clean install on a freshly formatted hdd.

These types of products are equivalent to holistic medicines curing stage 4 cancer.

I know some people who swear by it, but they always end up bringing me their pc to fix... I wouldn't trust it for av or malware. I would just use ccleaner and defraggler and spend that money on hardware.

what do I lose when using defragger free version by not optimizing my HD for faster access aren't I'm gonna defragment the HD isn't that the same as optimizing the HD?

I've seen SystemMechanic back in the day. Seemed like it had some nice utilities built in. The most important part of any "system optimization" tool is that it's a tool, not a magic fix everything button. Just because it thinks it might have found a registry problem doesn't mean you should actually obliterate a bunch of registry entries. Everything it suggests should be taken in to consideration and not blindly applied.

Assuming you own it currently, if it were me, I'd just sell it. Windows is good about taking care of itself these days.

Yea, use ccleaner to delete temp files and then defraggler to defrag your hard drive. If you have or get an SSD drive you don't need to defrag.

So you installed malware.

Err...
I have CCleaner and Adblock ...and stay away from pr0n/free game/free ipod/clean my pc sites.
hey! here's a pic of my Task Manager :D

You're trollin'.. your handle gives it away :P

no no, I forgot I put I installed superantimalwaro, I get so far that they are tools and that it will provide me with options which I hope I know what to do and not break anything, and I'm off to defrag to hardrive, my point was looking for performance. My pc doesn't sound as powerful as it did when I first bought it nowdays but I still think is decently fast.

Ok...
Here's what you do:
Get your Install where you want it..then image it.
You can use Acronis...
I use Norton Ghost...on UBCD like..10.5 I think.
Linux wants to copy the whole drive..that's not really economical.

After almost 20 years of dealing with pcs, I can tell you, defragging windows works, do it. Anything else is user error. Don't defrag registry, you don't need to mess with it. Only use firewalls and antivirus if you are a moron and like to surf like one. I can go months at a time without either and not get infected. Most of these "fixes" they throw at you on the internet are bs. Just learn how to use your computer and surf safely. It's not that hard.

All people have their own opinions on utilities, A/V, antimalware, and other software... and here is mine.

I use Iolo System Mechanic (not the Total Care, as I use other A/V and Antimalware).
I have used it ever since they started up.
If used correctly it does what it says it does.
Basically, it does everything you can do manually; however, for those who want quick and tire of hunting for the options to do these tasks, it works great.
The guys/gals there get back to you in 24 to 48 hours and handle your problem, if need be... they don't go the reset or re-install route... they actually try to figure out the problem.

In my opinion, those who think they will never get bitten by a virus, drive-by, Trojan or one of the hundreds of thousands baddies... good for you.
But for the rest that know these things are out there; and, the people that use them are trying everyday to find a way to infect you for their gain.
I use A/V and Antimalware apps and have had them stop many attempts... would the attempt have gotten through without them, possibly not, but I don't have to worry about it.

Please, use your firewall, A/V software, Anti-malware... if it slows you down... might be time to upgrade or figure out why and fix the problem.
Modern PCs system should be more than able to handle the apps; and, a firewall is a no-brainer.

weird... i never defragmented my SSD on my main rig (or any of the rig i have ... ) i guess i should ... using the normal defrag utility who is embedded in Windows, and not rely on a third party software O.o

hum ... ok just install a AV like AVAST and use sometime CCleaner, and stop worrying over your PC ... no "magical miracle whimsical" software will do what you can do automatically without drawback, don't worry about the Defrag procedure (you will notice no improvement whatsoever, i suspect it ... )

well according to the 1st link of the 2nd post, even if it does what it says, it install a lot of background processes, sooo, not really worth it. (and paying for having what you can have or do for free ... is still illogical for me)

yep no need for ISM SMTC or any all in one bloated soft ... (altho i only use a AV and a cleaner ... and have : 0 problems, my AVAST has not the firewall option, i don't use a firewall, still have win defender running, never used a anti malware soft and i have a lot of processes running but i know all of them and where they come... ) maybe i should use a antimalware ... oh wait

mostly this^ .... i ran without any AV or firewalls for years and never got a problem, until AVAST was recommended to me (in the free version type) also your post confirm my signature :D

Whilst I don't necessarily disagree with much of what you have said, I think it's irresponsible to advise anyone not to have AV or firewall protection, I see it as simply an additional safety net. I don't frequent "dodgy" sites and very rarely get anything bad coming my way but even on well known sites you can occasionally get hit, for example the last nasty I got was through watching a You Tube video of a boxing classic that had over 300,000 hits (Marvin Hagler versus Sugar Ray Leonard just in case your interested), by a process of elimination it could only have been from there but these days there are plenty that surf here there and everywhere, I mean even for me here at TPU, sometimes I have to check links posted by members that are in the Moderation queue and I just am not going anywhere without my Kevlar vest these days. So I suppose based on your comment..... I too am a moron.

Pb cures everything especially if injected via .45" cal injections :)

In my experience these so called pc boost &clean up softwares are like door to door salesmen who will promise you best quality with no qurantee :)

In response to post #6:

You Defragment a spinning mechanical Hard Drive.

You Optimize a SSD.

The only cleaners that I trust are CCleaner and Wise Disk and Wise Registry (with Safe entries only enabled) cleaners. The rest messes the system sooner or later.
