I have to say this HP1010 printer is the biggest rip off and worst implemented piece of hardware I've come across in my life. Hewlett Packard seem to have only two objectives- to make you buy overpriced cartridges and to sign you and the printer up to the internet of things.
As an occaisional printer user I'm royally screwed. The cartridges clog between uses every time so I spend hours attempting to unclog them, fail, go and buy more cartridges then spend more time navigating HP's idiotic software to set up the new cartridges.
No, I do not want to recieve notifications when the cartridges run low. They never do run low because they always clog first.
No, I do not want to sign up to HP's protected cartridge scheme. HP's cartridges are the worst I've ever come across, I want protection from HP.
No, I do not want to give HP access to any information about my system and I do not want HP's badly written software to run in the background on startup.
I think the only cost and time effective solution is to smash it into small pieces and do all my printing at an internet cafe or library.
And while I'm on the subject, who in this day and age needs a hard copy of a document which needs to be digitised anyway to be printed? Why won't they let me just email the PDF?
/end rant
