@unclewebb Hopefully you can help, I'm worried about the values on the TPL window. Most i5-10300h I see on these forums have a long power pl 1 of 70 or so, 107 for short power pl2, and a turbo time limit of 28. My window shows 85 for long power pl 1, 107 pl2, and turbo time limit of 56. I have the same settings as this person on this thread: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/undervolt-i5-10300h.280860/ except I have core and cache to -110 each. I'm now wondering if my high temps are due to these higher than most numbers in the turbo power limits window? I have disable and lock turbo power limits checked in the fivr menu, do these high numbers even matter if that's checked? Been fighting this laptop for 2 years trying to get temps in check. I had to set speed shift max to 36 as 45 was causing throttling constantly while gaming. I feel as if gaming performance has took a hit doing this though. Dell g3 3500 with i5-10300h and gtx 1660 ti for reference. Thanks in advance!

Manufacturers and users can set the turbo power limits to any number they like. The Intel default TDP for a 10300H is 45W. Intel used to recommend that manufacturers set PL1 equal to the TDP so PL1 used to be set to 45W. Intel used to recommend setting PL2 25% higher compared to PL1 so somewhere around 56W for PL2 was typical. There has been some sort of arms race the last few years. Now everyone is setting both the PL1 and PL2 power limits sky high. Laptop cooling has not improved. The result are laptops with fans that scream and they will feel like an oven if you ever decide to put a laptop on your lap.

Don't bother contacting Dell to complain. Their typical response is that you should have bought one of their more expensive Alienware computers if you wanted to play games.

Intel says any CPU temperature under 100°C is a "safe operating temperature". No need to worry too much. Intel CPUs are well designed to automatically throttle and slow down before any damage occurs. Turn on the ThrottleStop Log File option and go play a game for 15 minutes. Attach a log file to your next post if you would like me to have a look at it.
