I'm saving up for a "new" system, are these parts ok?

Well, this time actually it will be an AMD based system since the Intel one that I wanted is too expensive.. Also, I get more cores on the AMD and a higher CPU cache aswell!

These are the parts (I put the prices in US$ but they are actually SEK, swedish currency):
OCZ PowerSupply (PSU) 600W ModXStream Pro 74$
Corsair XMS3 4096MB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz (2X2048MB) (CL9) 43$
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB (7200RPM / 32MB Cache / SATA II) 53$
Samsung Intern SATA DVD±RW 22x - Svart (Dual-Layer) (SH-S223C) (Bulk) 19$
Asus - Socket AM3 - ATX AMD 890FX 169$

And so the CPU.. Now, I don't know exactly what one to pick. I'm using Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign a lot these days, so I put up two different ones:

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz / 9MB / Socket AM3 (Boxed) 149$
OR
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition 3.2GHz / 9MB / Socket AM3 (Boxed) 199$

If I chose the faster Phenom, I'll have to wait until getting a better GPU, however, this one works great and has had no issues what so ever.

So? What you think, is this good or not? And what CPU should I stick to??

The 1055 for the most part can clock very closely with the 1090t also look at the biostar 890fx it is a very good board and here its a good bit cheaper. Only huge downside with it is poor pci-e spacing if you are not running xfire its fine.

If you want a quick and dirty OC (unlocked multiplier), go for the 1090T BE. You probably will be happy with the system at stock, so I would get the 1055T.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but now that Adobe programs are GPU accelerated, I believe consumer nvidia cards outperform AMD cards, but of course workstation graphics are far superior to both, correct?

Hey, thanks for the replies! Well, my current card is a nVidia (not getting rid of it), I was thinking of getting a full i5 system at first, but can't afford it actually. Also, I know there are AMD mobo's that support SLI, but they seem a bit expensive aswell right now.

If I use my current gfx card with that setup be it 1055 or 1090 cpu, how would the motherboard handle the gfx card? Any issues I should be aware of?

all AMD xfire boards can run SLi there is a hack. any board will be fine with your card

Personally I'd spring for the 1090T CPU just to have that extra reserve of guaranteed speed, and an unlocked multiplier in case you want to beef it up in the future. I think its worth the money just to get it now to represent an even larger move up from your current CPU, and if you dont OC games still like CPU's over 3ghz per core.

recently I was running an Athlon 2 dual core, and a 9800GTX (essentially a GTS 250) and was deciding wether to upgrade the CPU or GPU first, I went with the 1090T and saw a huge improvement in most games just from the extra cores and speed, then you can wait a month or two on a new GPU.

Ok, so then it's set. I'll stick with the 1090T. Perhaps also I might chose another motherboard and get like 8Gb of ram instead of 4 (maybe better that way, combining PS and Illustrator can take a huge amount of mem sometimes).

I'll have all parts around end of March.
