Intel ARC GPU discussion thread

I mean, that's a really good result. $350 for 3080-like performance is really good value.
It is! Just wish more new games were like that (ahem, Dead Space...)
And this is why we should care about:
I bet driver team knew they had to shift priorities once they saw where they can land on the charts

A rare day of glory for Intel GPUs!

Wow this runs counter to everything else I've seen from user reporting on this game. Both the A770 and 3080 performing so well and not choking down under 30FPS, and the 7900 XTX failing to crack 20FPS. Looking further into the charts and seeing all the RDNA2 cards struggle to keep minimums out of the single digits is so strange. I've been reading post after post after post on Reddit and other forums about how people are experiencing stuttering, and nearly every single one of those starts with, "RTX 3080/3070 1440p RT+DLSS" and yet none of that user reporting is reflected here.

The problems with this game clearly run quite deep. Good on Intel for working through a lot of it.

RT is where they are weak.

Yes, I understand that. RT can be weak on RDNA2 but single digits is not what most people are reporting with their cards.
Ah I see. I misunderstood your post.

Maybe DLSS is the difference; I believe that W1zzard's review was conducted without it.

Err..., fellas, could you please tell me where is Arc Control on 4123? :D Everything is gone, not even in the folder it was in.

EDIT: nvm, it really was broken completely, couldn't even uninstall without errors. Driver+Arc Control only reinstalled properly after I resorted to first wiping it all with DDU.

Sorry but those results are wrong. The author said he accidentally used RT Low on the ARC cards rather than Ultra. It still performs good but not as good. I know, it's disappointing.

HWUnboxed shows way different results due to that. RDNA3 isn't that terrible either, even though it's still bad. We need to strive for accuracy either we'll just delude ourselves.

Based on Hogwarts Legacy results, ARC performs like how it should in DX12, but nothing super fantastic. Based on 4K results, it still has driver bottleneck on the lower resolutions.

I found 4123 to be both a backwards step in general performance and stability. Switched back to 4091 for now.

My BiFrost should be turning up today so will be interesting to compare that to the A750 LE and A770 Phantom D (now returned). The difference to the latter will be of most interest as it effectively has a memory overclock (18 vs 16Ghz - or same as the A770LE IIRC).

Performance uplift between A750 and A770 in my own testing was around 10-15% depending on the game. The A770 clocked better when pushed and used less power at "stock" speeds (somewhat negating its higher power limit...)

For those annoyed by high powerconsumption: Arc seems to undervolt like a champ, 20/0 or 40/10 like on Nvidia-cards seems to work (20% lower powerdraw at same perfprmance or 40% lower powerdraw for 10% lower performance).

since Arc a770 is only one Intel gpu with enough vram to don't buy it twice, I have to ask:
how good are arc drivers now ? can you play cyberpunk 2077 rtx off /xess/ upscalling / shapening without crasying or anything unstable and achieve 60 fps min ?
or should I buy another amd/nvidia card sincer arc refresh aren't available yet.
edit: upscalling and shapening

drivers are decent now. You can expect 60 fps on Cyberpunk with everything on high (no rtx or xess)

define decent ? should I expect new triple a popular games to play without significant crashes from start to end without facing significant troubles?

In my experience almost every new triple A title is running worse that expected but that has nothing to do with the arc drivers. They just run bad on every card. So, are you gonna play without facing significant troubles? definitely not, but arc isn't making it worse.

A750 for around the same price as a 3060 12GB and 200 bucks cheaper (in my currency) than 6650XT/6600XT (AMD prices here are a mess). Worth it?

Looks like it is indeed worth giving it a try.

i have not really problems in any games if play, DX9, DX10, DX11 and DX12 or in the other hand OpenGL and Vulcan.:nutkick:

Only one bug is there that ALT + TAB sometimes dont work

Yeah A750 for 199$ have 256bit with 512GB/s which is to expensiven for Nvidia and AMD and they prefer 128bit for 300$ Cards:kookoo:

Question to anyone with A380:

How does it fare in Quake 2 RTX?

A380 4fps at 4k with rtx on.

in openGL mode 1000 (maxing the frame counter)

RIP.
Thanks for the information.
It should be noted I would not consider these for any kind of ray tracing, they are low end gaming cards
