Intel to Debut 8th Generation Core Family on August 21

Nobody is spreading hate. But buying Intel over AMD is just wrong right now, no matter for what. So what else are people going to talk about in a post advertising Intel?

Stop with this annoying AMD religious hate preaching against Intel. What are you? Jehova's witness? Its becoming really annoying trying to find any constructive comments.

Whats next, you wanna start hanging people for using Intel cpu's? Should i be worried for wanting an i7 7820x?

BTW you couldn't PAY me to use AMD products ever again after getting screwed over TWICE by AMD products.

No it's not. Every one has the right to buy what ever suits them best. If you need high ipc, intel is still way to go no matter how great Zen processors are.

That's why I wrote the other part of my post.

Stop with this annoying AMD religious ...
How is it religious when you can prove it with facts? More cores and cheaper = better for 99% of people.

So top of the line 8th gen i7 will have 6 core 12 threads? This will be interesting as the pissy Kabylake-X for X299 has what, 4 core 8 threads? Damn Intel is so messed up right now. Seems like a full on panic mode.

AMD got Intel dancing like puppets, Dance for AMD you money grubbing lowlifes.

Probably just the same, but literally hotter and only slightly faster.

Be careful, stating plain and obvious facts about Intel is now considered hate speech by some people! :fear:

They didn´t even let me count from 3 to 1, started immediatly bashing Intel. I love the fact AMD is competitive again, but this recent hate towards Intel and nvidia on every article is getting ridiculous.

It's just like that it's called amd hype bandwagon, you just have to be a bit "simple" and have just a bit of blind anger, then you're all set.

And 6c/6t i5's could be pointless IRL and likey just exist for marketing purposes. 4c/8t could well turn out to be better than 6c/6t for professional use and especially multitasking. 6 14nm cores would be warmer than 4 cores too. Guess 240mm rads are becoming standard issue soon!

Damn didn't know AMD subreddit group frequent here as well. The most toxic community out of Nvidia Intel and AMD.

...theyre both are out for a profit, neither one is charity so whatever Intel or amd dose is for profit. We could easily see the roles reversed between the two. There is no heart of gold or the people's company here.

If this is good enough and have better IPC it might be worth the upgrade, at least for gaming, good times ahead!

lol would you stop calling it blind or even anger? It's not blind because you can actually point to why AMD is better for 99% of people right now. And it's not even anger just because you're saying go buy something else. I'm just trying to help someone to get more cores for cheaper, which is a better overall CPU for the money. That's considered "blind anger" right now?

Now now... don't start projecting.

You would think Intel can do three cores per CPU, like the Phenom8450. That will be really interesting.

i7: 6C12T
i5: 6C6T
i3: 3C6T and 4C4T

lololol

Nope, it's the same Skylake microarchitecture. No IPC gains, but finally moar cores than we've had since 2011 or so ;-)

You clearly dont remember the AMD FX vs Netburst days.

As soon as Ryzen reaches the level of success they want, prepare your wallet.

Yeah those were not pleasant days. Freaking expensive Athlon64X2 3800+

Pretty much like 4790K levels but more cores?
Based on this.
Unless the quad core part is stronger than the 7700K.

Weren't those AMD chips like 8-900 bucks back then?

AMD FX53 ~$730, FX55, ~$830

Heh ain't everyone bought Opterons on those days.

Heh, maybe they release Coffee X too, but yeah Kaby X is quite bad one. In theory it might give some upgrade path, but how intel executed it is pretty much useless(mobo compatibility issues etc.).

Im wondering if this a true 6core part or a 4+2... some early speculation was 4+2

IMO, Intel is just being Intel and trying, like others have in the past, to play on their reputation. Eventually, that tact failed for others. My guess is that it will for Intel, too, unless, of course, they manage to squeeze out some real innovation. In the meantime, I'll stick with my E5-1650v2 as I would rather be out watching the eclipse. :D

Its not about being a fan boy. But when you buy a top of the line product spending hundreds of dollars, you expect to be able to brag about it for a while and feel satisfied that your PC is one of the fastest out there. But if Intel keeps dropping new CPUs every 6 months, and specially when they only add 2-5% performance each generation, it is an insult to the buyer. Maybe not performance wise, but the systems so feel ancient by the naming schemes. You could be within 10% of the performance of the latest CPU but be 3 generations old.

To add more insult, the chipsets change with every CPU generations, so we cannot even upgrade. That sucks.

There hasn't been much innovation since SandyBridge, and we have 5 chipset revisions since then.
