Is it possible to bios flash 2070 Super FE?

you would think the company that makes the chip would know how to make a proper GPU - unfortunately not.
they do... it just doesnt have a 'zero fan' feature.... same as some aftermarket cards too. I wouldn't call it being on a high horse so much as it is as a consumer knowing what features you want out of a card, finding that and buying it.

The fact is that these are probably some best 'reference' cards moving away from the horribly noisey blower and MEH power delivery to a decent cooler (mine are quiet, lol) and easily better than most blower thermals..... value aside.

Anyway, I learned something again today! Glad it works for you!! :)

@Elysium - is that a hambinoo icon laughing?

I do also regret buying a Founders Card. But please get down from your horse and stop being "amazed" - you would think the company that makes the chip would know how to make a proper GPU - unfortunately not.

- - - Finally found the solution to my "10DE-1EC7-10DE-13AA" - - -

I'm extremely happy to announce that the "Asus RTX 2070 Super 8 GB BIOS" which @Regeneration linked works perfectly and I'm able to set a 0db custom fan curve.
  • I had to disable GPU acceleration in chrome since it drawn completely black as @yourig also mentioned.
  • I will come back here and update you all if anything come up not working.

For now I want to give a huge thanks to the ones helping me out here (especially @Regeneration ) since the fans was driving me nutch.
I am very happy for my new ASUS 2070 Super Strix Board

Do all the ports on the back of the card work? I have the same device id, 1EC7 and have been looking for a solution to get fan stop at idle. I don't care much about the USB-C, the HDMI port is the one I'm interested in.

Hi @fabflix I have done a lot of testing now with my two monitors and I have come to the conclusion that 1xDisplayPort 1xHDMI and 1xUSB-C works. The two remaining DisplayPorts doesn't work.
I am actually very curious to why the USB-C works. But to answer your question the HDMI works perfectly. I ran both monitors at the same time (one through DisplayPort and the other through HDMI)
I also tested with one connected to USB-C and the other through displayport and HDMI.

TLDR all the combinations works but two of the three DisplayPorts doesn't work (see photos)

Thanks for the detailed explanations.

Already flashed the same bios that you did and I can confirm that fan stop now works. Regarding the ports, the same configuration as you represented in the first image is available for me.
A clean driver reinstall using DDU had to be made in order to have 4k resolution using HDMI. I also had to disable GPU acceleration for Chrome in order to not have completely black window.

You can try to force 3D clocks from the Nvidia control panel (set power management to prefer high performance), or just replace the noisy stock heatsink with Accelero Xtreme IV Rev 2, which suppose to be compatible with RTX 2000 series.

Happy to hear you had success too!
I am loving the 0dB fans at idle. I use Argus Monitor to control the fans in my system. I used MSI Afterburner in the begining combined with a light overclock but the system became unstable for some reason.
Have you overcloked your GPU (what settings did you use?) and what software(s) are you using to control it?

I nuked Chrome and restarted my PC a couple og times and freshly reinstalled Chrome and I can now run it with the hardware acceleration turned on

Everyone keep suggesting we buy a "ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme IV". Why would we want that? The Founders Card looks amazing and there's like a billion screws and glue to remove on these cards.
The warranty and resell value is very important to me as well.

Watch this video and please stop suggesting replacing the fans RTX FE Cooler Tear-Down (Gamers Nexus)

I didn't overclock. I use MSI Afterburner to control the fan, which works fine for me.
Will try to fiddle around with Chrome so that it works with GPU acceleration.

Arctic VGA coolers perform a lot better than stock coolers and yet remain quiet even at full speed. Giving extra headroom for overclocking and just costs around 50 bucks.

Temperature is usually the limiting factor in GPU overclocking. Minus 30c and 30dB is a big deal.

Hi,
Can't use a custom fan curve in msi afterburner ?

Fan speed will not go below 43%, no matter how you try. It's limited by the BIOS as I understand it. Minimum manual setting in afterburner is 43.
Hi,
Bummer thanks for the info looks like a manufacture to avoid :)

What a way to jump into conclusions. There's nothing profoundly wrong with PNY, my card seems as good as any other. If you read the first post in this thread, you will see that even Founders Edition cards have this "issue". Lowering the minimum fan speed is one of the two usual reasons to change the stock BIOS, the other one being unlocking power limits.

Hello,

Can anyone help me flashing the 2070S FE. I really struggle with the thing to do and how (software, roms, steps etc). This could be very useful to many others :)

My Card is a 10DE 1EC7 - 10DE 13AA

Many thanks in advance,

McF
