Is it Safe to get XFX RX5700 XT?

Sorry for my Late Reply (Timezone)

Some people might disagree with me, but I'd go with Nvidia until AMD get their shit together.
Any Suggestion about other gpu?

The 5700XT from a performance perspective is a very good card. I would just make sure to purchase from somewhere that has a very good return policy just in case you do have issues. When you say stream do you mean Netflix or broadcast yourself playing games?
If it's the later RTX 2070 super is the way to go.
I am Streaming My Game on Youtube

Navi gen 1 without any of the performance enhancing features of DX12 Ultimate is a tough sell, especially considering its questionable stability.

Unless you are a diehard ATi / Radeon fan, I would not recommend Navi gen1
Any estimation when is Navi gen 2 arrive?
Navi 2 is the RDNA2 right?

If we're going to help this dude, we gotta start properly. I have my fair share of RX 5700 XT woes, but it is generally a good card when the drivers work.

What particular games are you aiming to play?

Also, by streaming, do you mean you will be streaming to an audience or you will just watch some streams?
I am Streaming GTA 5 sometimes COD

If everyone in the world had similar prices then I would promote 2070 Super. But here in Canada its $200 more expensive than the 5700 XT. It is probably similar in a lot of other countries. So the % increase vs cost increase is changed greatly.

Edit: thanks Joey, I was gonna post that video.
The difference Price in my Country is getting really far
XFX 5700 XT Thicc III Ultra is 471$ Here
Galax 2070 Super WTF is 767$ Here
Galax 2060 Super One Click OC is 463$ Here
This is currently Only stock in store here
And due Pandemic the price goes up like crazy and this is the only store that have good reputation

Yeah just take a quick look at AMD Help on Reddit if you think new driver fixed almost everything, in a 24 hours period there always are around 10 or more posts complaining about 5700/ 5700XT.

This is what i am really afraid, im really bad at finding solution and also not really understand about IT

I love my 5700 xt. Upgraded from a 1070, and I've had no problems.
Can i know what are your system Spec?

Thanks for getting back to us man.

Does your country have consumer protection laws? What I mean by this is... Do you have the ability to return the product within the first few days/weeks if the product is not satisfactory or not working? Because I would definitely recommend the XFX 5700 XT Thicc III Ultra you listed, but like I mentioned above, I'm not sure if you would be getting a card that would be driver-stable/compatible with your card like mine (I have a reference RX 5700 XT that was sold by Sapphire). If ever it is unstable, I'd like for you to have the right to return it.

If your previous RX 580 was working fine on your system with the latest drivers, then there is a good chance a RX 5700 XT would be fine too. Would you mind filling in your system specs?

Also, may we know what country do you live in? I'll be able to check on your consumer laws and also see if I can find a retailer that can get you better prices.

It's true the mainline driver is a complete mess. But the Radeon Pro drivers have actually been good to me, if you want to try that.

And I am using the exact card he's asking about, no issues other than yeah, bad mainline drivers.

I have the Thicc III for a couple months and absolutly no problems. Boosts to 2035 on 3D Mark dx 12 test and gets about 400 less on graphics score that my RTX 2080 gets. 2 different comps but same specs on both just different video cards. Card runs cool, quiet, and fast.

Seasonic 650w Focus Gold
Intel 660p 1TB M.2

MSI RX 580 8GB

Thanks for Helping me out!

I have the exact same CPU as you(Ryzen 7 2700X). I upgraded from a GTX 1070 FE(Founders Edition)to my current 5700XT at the beginning of the year. I've had no issues with this GPU at all with any of the drivers. Every game that I play(from Warframe, Black Desert Online, Path of Exile, GTA 5, The Division 2, etc)has been stable. There is no release date for Navi 2(RDNA 2) especially with this virus affecting global supply chains/jobs. Plus obviously the new cards will definitely be more expensive.

5700XT is a great card, but I wouldn't risk it if I'm not comfortable troubleshooting.

Let's try to troubleshoot your RX 580 issue first before you go off and buy a RX 5700 XT, because the way you described it looks like its just a software problem.

First thing we can try is update your drivers. Head over to AMD's support site and download the latest Adrenalin 2020 for your version of Windows 10.

Before you install it, head over to "Control Panel", Programs & Features, look for the AMD Software and uninstall it. You will need to restart your computer once its finished.

Once you're back into Windows, go ahead and run the Adrenalin 2020 download and let it extract and run.

Halfway through the install, it will show you something like this:
additional_options.jpg

Click on that "Additional Options" drop-down menu and check the "Factory Reset (Optional)" box:

additional_options2.jpg

Then continue and finish the install.

Once you're done, restart your PC again.

After you boot back up, go ahead and play any of your games to test and let us know if you still have problems.

Ryzen 3600 with a Noctua NH-C14S heatsink
2x8gb of Flare X 3200 cl14 ram (overclocked to 3600 cl15)
xfx 5700 xt reference blower card
Lian Li 011 Dynamic

If you enjoy streaming I could see going with NVIDIA as I do think their solutions are better for that. It would be hard for me to swallow though to pay that much for a 2060 isnteado of a 5700 xt, but I definitely wouldn't pay that price for a 2700 super.

Looks like video memory crapping out.

Yes, please update the software so we can further determine if it really is a hardware issue.

What you described could be one of the following:
- Video card not getting enough power or even unstable power
- Video card overheating and affecting the on-board memory/VRAM
- Defective HDMI/DisplayPort cable

After you update your drivers please play a game and run GPU-Z at the same time so we can see what the temperatures and voltage are.

Well this RX580 is ex mining gpu

To be Honest i would say electricity on my house is not stable, so i get a Stabilizer and plug my pc on it.

About temp i ever check it reach around 90C and around 50C on idle inside Air Con room but maybe that like long time ago

I will need time anyway (prob saturday) before i can check it due travel delay

Okay, no problem. Just reply back to this thread when you're ready.

So i am deciding to Replace my Broken GPU ( Current is MSI RX 580)

My Friend Recommend me the Latest XFX 5700 XT Thicc Ultra III

But when i see there are Problem with RX 5700 XT in General and some Also said that New Driver Solve almost everything.

So I'm kinda Confuse if i should Gambling for it or just get RTX 2060 Super? ( my budget cannot afford 2070 Super here.

Mostly using my PC for Gaming and light Stream ( 1440p)
Just get a 2070 or a 2080 super and be done with it. Especially if youre streaming. You can use nvidias NVENC encoder thats built into the GPU and works independently of the GPU.

So Here im Playing my games for 1 First Hour
Seem no Problem occur yet ( I Hope it's fine )

There is nothing wrong wit a 5700 xt . I know, i have one and have no complaints with it at all. I will say this though: if your looking to overclock the memory on it, look for something else.. The core over clocks good but not the ram. Yeah i know silicon lottery and all that jazz...

My one sample works...therefore, they all do. Dont mind the release notes on drivers, or AMD acknowledgement of the issue(s)...

I reviewed over a dozen of these navi cards, no issues. I give one to my son to use, he has issues in a couple of titles.

I thought we poked fun at the concept of "it just works". :p

My apologies sir LOL...yeah we did, didn't we ?

Sounds good! Let us know if you run into issues again. Hopefully you just needed to update your drivers.

Okay so after a while now i getting white Flash again on my PC

I Turn it off on Monday and back on Thursday
It came back

i had two 5700XTs (Sapphire Pulse and Nitro + SE)

i had a blank windows 10 installation and nothing else than the drivers on the system and i reinstalled the drivers several times with DDU in Safe mode and blocked driver updates through windows.
i tried many different drivers aswell.

My Experience:

both cards crashed in many different games, others like BFV stuttered like hell.

Driver Crashes on desktop

Black Screens (PC Locked up and no signal on Screen until a hard reset has been done)

Radeon Software often did not launched and crashed when trying to open it

BSODs (just two)

Heavy artifacting on the windows boot screen

Some Games are running terribly poor with AMD Cards (for example PUBG ran worse on the Nitro + SE at 2100 Mhz than with my 1070)

Temperature readings are saying 65000°C

Fans locked to a 100%

Fans don't respond to anything

Ridiculous amounts of bloatware in their software

VR is completely unplayable due to poor performance and crashes

And the best thing is:
I have a Freesync monitor that does barely work with my 5700XT but perfectly with my Nvidia Cards in compatability mode.

To be honest. you save a few bucks because it is a broken hardware pre alpha that will never be finished.. just like all the early access corpses on steam.

it's not worth the hassle, RMAs and crap.

spend a hundred bucks more, get a 2070 Super or a 2060 super and have fun.

Meaning people are still getting blackscreens, shuttering, hard lockup, etc...with their 5700/ 5700XT. I don't want to cherry pick anecdotal evidences, just look it up.

10 people will complain about everything. Literally, everything. %'s matter. Not the existence of complaints. If the existence of complaints makes something bad then everything is bad.

This is a problem acknowledged by AMD. So far they were unable to even get to the root cause, much less fix anything. The problem is not widespread (which is part of why it's hard to pinpoint), but the fact remains you're taking a bit of a gamble. A $400-450 gamble. If you can get it from a seller that provides good support, then you don't have a problem. But not everybody lives in the US, so not everybody has that option.

You're right (and many acknowledged this point already)... but again, it is, and has been, in the known issues list since it was released...
