Video Card(s) Crossfire 2x AMD R9 270 2GB
Storage Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB

Software Windows 7
Got this GPU from a friend to troubleshoot. Its not mine and my system is stable.

Problem:-
Works with standard VGA drivers.
As soon as windows installs appropriate drivers and restarts, no display in windows.
Bios display fine with DVI cable but no display with DVI-VGA cable. (Even in BIOS)
Tried to use it as secondary GPU but cant get it to display.

What i tried:-
Tried on windows 7 32bit and 64 bit using latest nVidia drivers and some 185.xx drivers.
Used driver sweeper to erase all drivers first.
I tried flashing to many bioses but nothing works.
Im using the Inno3d 9800gt bios from the GPU database here.
I even flashed it to an Inno3d 8800gt. Works but some strange colors in bios maybe because of dif mem timings.
I tried F@H and it says UNSTABLE MACHINE.
I put in the oven twice (Its not mine :D) @ 200 degrees for 10min and nothing happened.
Changing speed in MSI afterburner actually changes card speed.

Fun Facts:-
This must be the cheapest 9800gt ever made.
No voltage control.
Fan at 100% all the time(2 wires) (LOUD)
No downclock in 2D :ohwell:
No sensors whatsoever. (GPUZ only displays Core/shader/mem speed)

What i want:-
I don't care if it doesn't display, i just wanna fold with it. :)
Or maybe i should just throw it away??

That should be about 385*F :p
Its not dead yet, can still use it with standard VGA drivers and it even displays 1680x1050 for my display.

Any more ideas i could try??

VGA cable doesn't work at all.
DVI cable works with standard VGA drivers but not with windows 9800gt drivers.
Once windows loads my display switches off.

The card is bad. Throw it away.

I can't believe it survived 200c in an oven. Twice.

what about a diff OS? I know ti sounds weird but my friend had a 8600GTS and for some reason it wouldnt work in windows 7. After it installed drivers the PC would not display. Of course it ended up the mobo was bad in later tests. Still maybe it will buy you some time on that cruncher rig. Or RMA the card?

Maybe i should try 250*C, just for fun.

EDIT 1:
The card was working fine in windows 7 for a couple of months.
All computers here have windows 7. Maybe i can try on XP later on.
RMA??? From here??? I doubt anybody tried to RMA anything from this country .

EDIT 2;
My friend said he tried it in some linux distro. I guess it works in plain 2D but not in 3D.
