is ocz done making ram?

Color scheme is black and white.

I thought he was using a ASUS ROG board, and ROG VGA...if black/white, then the Corsair Vengeance LP white 1.35v kit is the one. Look for rev 8.16.

BTW, the ballistix he linked were red...you sure it's black/white, hmm?

i hate ripjaws. they look terrible

Well I assumed this was for the black and white G5 case build...

I don't recommend stuff I don't ahve experince using, and lately, G.SKill is some of the cheapest stuff, and OC's well if you get the right sticks.

8GB is like $40-$90 for poor-to-good clocking ram. Take your pick, and buy now before prices go up again.

There are only limited 4GB/8GB IC's available on the market, which is why everyone has stuff with very similar timings. 2133 MHz @ 9-11-10, 9-11-9, etc, that's just all there is.

Samsung stuff is the most recent, and the LP-LV stuff is on a nice black PCB. They clock like mad. I'm jsut now working on CAS/voltage scaling for the review, which i hope to have up later this week. Nothing else on the market is even remotely close for clocking...makes BFR's look like crap.

So either buy for your eyes, or buy the 30nm samsung if ya wanna clock.

there are ways and means of getting what you want i took the heatsink/waterjackets off my flex xlc2 ocz ddr2 and fitted them with new Tim, on my mushkin 2133 mem, i got good looks ,l8tr watercooling(when a better IMC turns up), and the mushkins did look proper drab, they are now cooled well at 1.65v, instead of 1.5 and i have 9,9,9,24 at 2000 now stable:)

Good thing OCZ sucked! Every OCZ RAM chips I had sucked.

Nah they were good back in the day...like DDR1. At once time they were one of the few games in town for performance/overclocking RAM. Started to go downhill during DDR2 days.

Mine were all DDR2 and not one was worth there salt!

Trickson's baaaack! Lock up your shitty hardware!

LOL. What does that mean? LOL. I just never had any luck at all with OCZ DDR2 RAM. Man that stuff was horrible at best.

i had non stop issues with DDR2 ram in general, anything that wasnt generic just died too fast.

Well as I am still on DDR2 the Kingston HyperX is just fantastic! I had some OCZ on this setup and it was miserable!

IDK why everyone is bitching about OCZ's ram, I had (have) these http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-ddr2-pc2-6400-reaper-cl3-edition-eol.html and i was always happy with them, they o/c ed to 950mhz easy and ran stable for almost 3 1/2 years non stop

I had these and man they sucked! http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-ddr2-pc2-8500-sli-ready-edition-dual-channel-eol.html Worst set of RAM ever! Couldn't even get close to 1066 on my setup 800 was all they would do. and when I had them on my MB that was SLI with 2 Cards in SLI there was no more performance than with regular RAM. I got really turned off of OCZ from then on. I would not even buy there SSD's if I could.

Getting anything over 800 with DDR2 was a crap shoot, especially on nVidia chipsets. The SLI RAM shit was total BS marketting, I don't know why you would think it would give better performance, I don't even think it was advertised to give better performance in SLI setups...

Yes it was advertized to give better performance! That was the reason I bought it!

The new OCZ PC2-8500 SLI-Ready Series is equipped with NVIDIA Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP) to optimize the modules' performance on nForce® SLI-based motherboards. OCZ exclusively engineered select high-performance modules with advanced SPD (Serial Presence Detect) settings to allow compatible motherboards to recognize and utilize the added information, ultimately increasing the performance potential of the entire platform.

OCZ SLI-Ready memory modules are programmed to boot at 1066MHz DDR2 with supremely fast timings of 5-5-5. Only motherboards equipped with the custom-designed BIOS, such as those designed for NVIDIA nForce SLI MCPs, can detect the optimized SPD profiles and ensure the memory functions under the best possible conditions. The exclusive OCZ SPD specifications take out the guesswork and provide enthusiasts and gamers with significant overclocked performance with no manual adjustment or compatibility issues.

Each OCZ SLI-Ready module comes equipped with an exclusive NVIDIA XTC heatspreaders for the most efficient heat dissipation and a look that stands out like its performance. Additionally, all SLI-Ready memory is backed with toll-free technical support, the exclusive EVP (Extended Voltage Protection) coverage, and an industry leading Lifetime Warranty.

With the fusion of the sophisticated EPP memory specification and cutting-edge, high-speed OCZ DDR2 architecture, the PC2-8500 edition is the ultimate breakthrough for advanced SLI platform performance.

And all this was and is pure BS! I could not get 1066MHz hell it was hard to get 800MHz stable! I was so PISSED OFF!

Heh I dunno; just messing with you. You just have no qualms about expressing your dislike of things and that's fine as you are usually correct about why and also very entertaining.

LOL. I am not always correct but I am right all the time!

nowehere in there does it say they boosted SLI performance. they just said they would only do 1066 on SLI ram (not SLI GPU) supported boards. and even then they usually only worked if you didnt OC at all, and only ran two sticks.

as we've been saying, DDR2 tended to suck.

I highlighted the important part for you. The modules performance, improving the RAM modules' performance isn't going to improve the computers performance in any noticeable way, usually not even a measurable way.

And all this was and is pure BS! I could not get 1066MHz hell it was hard to get 800MHz stable! I was so PISSED OFF!

Then you RMA them and get new ones, or ask the board manufacturer why their board won't do 1066MHz.

I know that it doesn't say it improves SLI performance but if YOU look there is performance increase mentioned though out there sh-peel! And there is SLI mentioned along with added performance and all kinds of crap to trip the consumer up! FUCK OCZ Glad they are gone! Or at least not making RAM any more they suck!

800 to 1066 is a performance improvement, which is what the EPP/SLI feature did.

sorry, but this time around you just failed at reading what the product was and did, and you got mad when you found out the truth.

Yes you are correct. I still will never buy another OCZ product again. :shadedshu
