That link goes to a general page. What GPU did you get? Make and model will do.

Watch this video. It's on the 290x but it has the reference 280x in the benchmarks at 1080p gaming.

It should give you an indication how yours will perform.

Skip to about 9mins in. That's OC'd to 1150 but stock for the 280 oc is 1020Mhz

It should do 1080p with no probs

That 280x should do nicely in general. Not the best, but far from the worst. It's a good card overall.

The card I am getting is the 280 not 280x

it has listed as the Engine Clock being 850 Mhz and the Boost Engine clock to 940 Mhz

Assuming the rest of your PC is up to the task, you should be able to run most modern games on their maximum detail level with AA or near maximum with framerates in the high 30s to mid-40s at 1080P.

That's plenty good enough for most games. Competitive games, you may want more but you can achieve that by bringing settings down to be less taxing. For example, I find BF4 online multiplayer almost unplayable even at 60FPS average, because the dips in framerate can be so extreme (in BF4) when things get busy.

TL;DR - The 280 should be just fine for 1080P if your expectations are realistic.

Eh, still. It's basically an old HD 7950 with a little better power management, if I recall correctly. Pretty nice card for mid-range gaming.

GPU isn't the best but is a good performer for 1080p gaming.

Could always hunt down a 7970, think NewEgg was offloading some (think they were Refurbs too)

With some graphic setting dialled down (game dependant), you should have desirable FPS with the 280 at 1080p.

Good luck.
