It's Time to Pull the Trigger on a RAM Upgrade for your DDR4 System

Usually they are good about getting things moving, sometimes not and it depends on what you ordered AND if you got it from the egg or one of those ripoff/shady vendors that's on their site now. I'm waiting for a pair of SSD's to get here from the NJ warehouse.

If they don't get here today will probrably be Friday when they show.

Ill be stopping at MC today since the price of a 16GB Flare X kit dropped another $30 since last week.

About ryzen 3xxx series, it depends the motherboard you choose, going b450, best for price is around $70, 4 memory slots, although that is to the point if you will ever use all 4 slots, maximum memory speed will be 3200mhz, that flare 2x8gb b-die cl14 chip is around $130, that will be about it, so motherboard + ram =200 usd.

If you go x570 route, only the motherboard will be $200, + ram will make more 130 usd.

Not much to do other than wait for reviews. We dont know if a $130 2x8 cl14 3200mhz b-die will give 10 to 20% more performance than the $130 2x16 cl16 3200 hynix.

Kinda surprised you haven't used them more.
Oh they have been my primary supplier for many many years. That's why I went with them. Though I probably should have, I didn't even check Amazon or anywhere else for RAM prices. I just didn't expect to see my order being shipped less than 1 hour after I placed the order. Now, by "shipped", that probably means it is sitting in Newegg's mailroom waiting for UPS to come pick it up. But the fact they pulled it from the shelf, boxed, labeled and assigned a UPS tracking number on it in less than an hour is still pretty good in my book.

Isuredo :) But if it's cheap enough I'll grab the extra ;) Some of my boards only have two slots for ram, so I'll try to fill it up :D

You're weird. And proud of it. Mad respect :D

Thanks :D I don't consider myself to be a sheep or to just run with the norm.. If I wanted to do that I'd buy a Prius or something or other... I like being a bit different, I don't think I'm hurting anyone so I'm happy with that :D My good mate @TheMadDutchDude will most probably agree with that :D

Nah i already have 128GB

Well, you could maybe consider making it 256Gb?? :D :D ;)

Definitely hardware over a stupid Prius :toast:

You will rarely use more than 16gb, specific workloads, few games use more than that, cities skylines is a good example of it and as it stands using 2x8gb will always be many times more overclock friendly than 4x8gb or 2x16. So that 3 and 4th memory slot is there to be populated when you need for specific workloads. I use 2x8gb and when i need more ram i populate those slots. I can overclock with 2x8gb to 4000mhz, with 4 slots i can hit only 3200mhz, probably one of 3 or 4th memory chips is holding the overclock back.
