Kingdom Come: Deliverance is the first surprise hit of 2018. It puts you in the shoes of a low-skilled peasant who has to endure tough adventures in the middle ages. We tested the game on 15 graphics cards at four resolutions, looked at VRAM usage, and checked on how the game scales on the CPU.

Thank you, great review as always!
Could you also do some performance scaling with lower graphics settings? From what i've seen so far, the game really scales well with lower settings. It's possible to play even on GT 1030 with ~30fps on low(textures medium).

edit: It would be especially awesome if you could test if 2200G/2400G can run it! Thanks :D

Nice review. Probably going to pick this game up as I love old style RPG swords and boards.

Its a shame you couldn't test SLI. Be nice to see if it works or even crossfire for that matter.

Thanks.

Sweet review, kind of would like to see how AMD cores compare to Intel cores.

See that your particular scene where Vega usage is only 50%, well even the 1080ti went from 97 to 62 average.
Maybe the scene is very heavy in cpu or both gpu and cpu...
This may need some devs work too, me thinking

From the videos I've seen of this, it seems to have the same LOD culling issues that the Final Fantasy benchmark suffered from

thanks Wiz! I need to get mine installed, and see what it does to my poor 290 :(

That's every game. If devs actually abided by the APIs, then we wouldn't have these messed up issues. Nvidia/AMD should not be fixing broken games in drivers. They're lazy and don't care. Anyone remember the glory days when this shit never happened even if you never updated drivers?

This game runs much better on high settings and I don't think even with something like GTX 1070 anybody wants to play this game on ultra high settings!
1440p and high seetings might be a better choice than 1080p ultra high.

Overall perfomance is not good at all.
And same story on consoles, terrible performance and disappontment, but fortunately in future there will be some patches that might improve perfomance.

it says VERTICAL fov, how is that low? the screenshots look very stretched, did you change to 90 vert resulting in 120something quake live styled horizontal?

never expected this mistake from w1z

edit: correction, options are 60-75, that means 90 to 107 horizontal... slightly odd, they should allow 50 (80) at least for tv users, isnt this game multiplatform?

edit2: actually they should go way lower for 4:3 users, we wouldnt know if they do until someone sees what happens when running at a non-16:9 resolution

edit3: seems like poor design of sliders, shouldnt the white area be the amount & then the yellow brown area be the remaining?

7600K @ 4.7GHz, 16GB @ 2666MHz, GTX 980 @ 1500/2000 and medium is the maximum playable for smooth FPS..

As expected from CryEngine, the environment is beautifully created. But the devs did a terrible job on lighting and shadows and the game in overall is bad in graphics. On top of that, this game has abysmal optimization with all kinds of bugs and crash fests. It is seriously unplayable and not worth the hype.

What hype? The game snuck in under most people's radar. Funny, people here who have the game don't report the bug and crash fest. W1zzard doesn't either.

Over 7,000 reviews on Steam and its sitting at 73% rating. That's not the aggregate score of a bug and crash fest. Perhaps what is really on your mind is YOU cannot play it well. Ok, that's fair, and understandable you would have a gripe. Have you sought advice on how to improve your performance?

Great review thank you very much for the information.

currently, I have the issue were the game randomly pauses. I did the nvidia "fix" but it still does the same thing. Annoying really. I heard that the other potential fix for this is to reduce the Physx to low as it renders physics far out anyway which is unnecessary. Then there is also apparently memory issues with the game as well.

If you have 16 GB or more RAM type in “-heapsize 2097152” and if you have 8 GB of RAM in your system then type in “-heapsize 1048576”.

A game which has a dedicated benchmark on TPU, and you said it is not hyped, ok then.

AND I'm reporting from the perspective of someone who actually spent enough time on the game to the point of "bugs and crash fest". The early reviewers mostly spend a little time on the start of the game, and will never get to that point. Also bugs and crash is not "performance". The game is a bit sluggish on my 1070 which is fine for me, but it's unplayable with random crashes and buggy game interactions. FYI, when I "sought advice", I found many ppl having the exactly same problems as mine, with no solution yet.

From your comment, I doubt that you even bought and played this game, plz stop making assumptions without actually trying something.

No assumptions. I made a question. Which you finally answered after preaching. And yes, very little advance publicity for the game was done, thus no hype. This was a true word-of-mouth sales phenomenon. In keeping with that, our site oner did a performance analyais. He always does this for big games which are reported to be taxing to the PC.

Runs well on my machine on high settings, haven't tried ultra. It did stutter a bit, but after updating the drivers the game feels silky smooth.
Liking the game thus far, about 13H in. Feels like the developers made something they really wanted to make and it shows, it has a hearth, same as with the Witcher, something that has been lacking in Bethesda games..
A bit rough around the edges, but as the first game of the studio with such a scope - respect.

Cryengine was good choice. KC is beautiful RPG, lights, shades, water, ... FPS is not so important in this game.

- 1440p (2560×1440) with Ultra High - 50-60 FPS
- 1080p (1920x1080) with Ultra High - around 100 FPS

I am getting super super low fps no matter what I do.
I turned off energy saving,
deleted + reinstalled C++ 2005-2017,
deleted + reinstalled direct x 11 ( I have windows 7),
reinstalled my nvidia drivers,
turned off Vsync,
and changed resolution from 1440 ->1080->720p and STILL averaging 1-10 fps.

I have read and heard from forums that I have more than enough juice to avg 40-50 fps on my rig.

Here's what I have.
(i7-2600K 3.4Ghz (overclocked to 4.5)
16 DDR3
GTX 1080 FE
PG348Q UW Monitor
550W PSU
2TB SSD
1TB SSD (installed Kingdom Come)

Please help I heard that majority of GTX1080 owners were experiencing the same problem. Thanks

There is no SLI support for the game, but some workarounds exist which don't work for everyone. Even with the workaround scaling is not that great. Both of my 1080's hit 90%+ usage but there's not a huge jump in frame rate. For a game that's not all that great looking performance is fairly bad.
