Looking for a bios backup of RTX 4090 Phantom

I am going to BIOS Flash my Gainward RTX 4090 Phantom to get a higher power limit.
But for some reason, GPU-Z says that BIOS reading isn't supported on my device.

Does anyone have a copy of bios version 95.02.18.00.A2?
 
Hello.
As i remember GPU-z does not save the whole BIOS image from new cards.
To save your current BIOS into a file you must use Nvflash.exe, and choose save image.
Backup the current graphics card BIOS with: nvflash --save backup.rom
After you save it rename it, and do it again for safety reasons.
Now that you have 2 images of your BIOS , now you can play with it

Thanks. I couldn't get the ASUS Strix OC to work on my card, but the Gigabyte Gaming OC worked.
 
So, you saved your original BIOS?
Then you crossflashed BIOS from Gigabyte ?
And it is working as it should ?

I Saved 2 copies of my original.
Tried flashing the ASUS bios, but couldn't get any output from the card.
Then I flashed my backup to the card to troubleshoot.

I then tried Palit, and it worked.
After that went for Gigabyte, which also worked.
stayed on Gigabyte as it had the best power limit.

I can't seem to get my custom fan curve to work, but the one that comes with the bios seems to do the trick.
 
Well, i am glad that your card worked with crossflashed BIOS file.

Can I ask why you're messing with power limits on an already extremely power hungry/hot running card (that no game can currently even push to near it's limits). Unless you like the risk of making an extremely expensive paperweight.

Gainward Phantom (non-GS) has a max limit of 450W.
Since I got an ATX 3.0 power supply with the new connector I would like to be able to use up to 600W.
The cards aren't running that hot in my opinion, but I had a 1080TI FE before so that is what I'm comparing the temps to.

Completely different card architecture. That's like comparing an old Pentium 4 with a new i7, max temp for the 4 is something like 70c but the i7 is 100c. Might be fine in this case, but is just an awful way to go about things.

There's literally 0 to be gained by BIOS modding a 4090 right now.

Stumbled upon this topic while waiting for my non GS version too.

I was wondering if you did manage to overclock it better with the gigabyte bios?
What are your OC results?

Using the MSI afterburner OC Scanner I was able to get a boost clock of 2925-2940.
I have attached a picture of the curve.
The main limiter is the voltage, but if I tinker with it more, I am sure I can manually get it higher.

How much watt does gpuz report with these settings?
 
I'll check when I get home. You'll get an update in about 8 hours.

I hit just over 500W while running around in Hitman 3 with RTX On and DLLS Off. I got 100 FPS average.

Interesting that means the pcb and vrm's from the non GS and the GS are simelar. Its not hardware locked at 450watt which is good news! No reason to pay extra for the GS and no reason at all to pay 400euro more for msi or asus

I'm getting a boost clock of 2910 with stock bios on the non-GS variant. so this might not be worth the risk (at least for me).

what bios did you use exactly? I have the normal model, it will be worth the "GS"?

I get +250 core and +1300ram easily. The card is pulling around 400watts
Very happy honestly with the card
Light coil whine but it doesnt bother me'

Right now I see no reason for me to flash the bios to other one but who knows in the future.

I'm with you I won't change bios, I was also able to upload frequencies with msi afterburner, the same as you more or less and I reached more than 37000 points in graphics in time spy

Okay so out of curiosity I flashed the non gs card with the gigabyte OC bios last night.
It seems like I prefer the gigabyte one because it's giving a bit higher core clocks with lower power usage.
Seems like the gigabyte bios is a bit more refined, just my 2 cents.

anyone got the original BIOS for the GS edition ?
I found it here, when you click on download, delete .rom and type: all files, when you have the file downloaded, put .rom

 
I have the same RTX 4090 GAINWARD PHANTOM (without GS) and I am able to do flash using Asus Strix BIos. But the power limit is blocked to 100% (on Strix bios) this can be caused by 3x8pin to 12+4-pin adapter that is included in box.

I am on Corsair AX1600i waiting for https://www.corsair.com/pl/pl/Categ...za-600 W-PCIe-5-0-12VHPWR-Type-4/p/CP-8920284

Also on 450w, I am able to do like 3~ GHz on 1.05v in heavy load 2.9Ghz TimeSpy Extreme 20 500 points. ( in FuRmark 2750mhz -2800 mhz 450w)
