Hey guys. I have a buddy from when I used to work in the network security industry who sends me various softwares every once in a while from the mountains of stuff they get. He's offered me a perpetual license (read: infinite) for McAfee VirusScan + AntiSpyware Enterprise and a 6 year license for AVG Internet Security. I just wanted some opinions on which you guys thought was the better option.

I know the consumer version of McAfee is a joke and bogs down a system with all its bloat, but the enterprise version seems really lightweight and I don't notice any slowdown at all.
Of course, the AVG Internet Security comes with a bit more, like firewall and the like, but I haven't used AVG in a very long time so don't know what its current reputation is.

All comments appreciated, and if anyone wants the key for AVG just let me know. It's got unlimited activations.

but I haven't used AVG in a very long time so don't know what its current reputation is.
The current reputation of AVG2012 is pretty good.

I wouldn't even want to chance McAfee

AVG is probabily better...
both are fairly bad anyway

McAfee's enterprise class antiviruses have always been good. It's nothing like the home versions that many usually have and use...

There both shit, go get Avast and call it a day.

But if i had to choose id go McAfee as ive found it not to stuff up computers like AVG does argh

if i have to choose between avg or mcafee, its clear im gonna take avg

+1 for avast

Speaking of which, the brand new version 7.0 has just been released on February 23th.
New hybrid cloud features, improved Auto Sandbox, better detection, facelifted interface etc etc

definitely AVG, McAfee are just garbage beyond garbage.

dont want something like that on your PC.

If you can afford it - get Kaspersky. 3 licenses for £12-16 if you look carefully
