You have to have like perfect AI for stealth to work as expected. Metro series are some of the best AI I have seen in a game these days.

I pulled the trigger and bought LL complete edition on the steam sale yesterday. :toast:

Nice. I'd recommend not reading ahead on the plot or the game will be ruined for you, I normally do that but I was really glad I didn't because events occur that make for a nice plot twist.

I am considering buying the redux'd 2033 but Last Light's graphics are already so top notch, I don't see how it could look much better without being unplayable on my current system.

In many ways, Last Light reminded me of the first Call of Duty game (the 2003 original with WW2 plot).

Just got my 780 last night and popped it in, can't wait to get home and try some metro!

You should use the 680 for PhysX :D

Lol. I might've already found a buyer for it

Oh well if you can try it as PhysX and let me know how the performance is. I remember reading, atleast for Last Light, having a dedicated PhysX card seemed to help a lot.

It still has the block on it, I'd have to swap the air cooler on to it to test it.

Are you getting a waterblock for the 780?

Yeah, I think so. It'll be a couple months probly, waiting till I have money lol.

If I had 2033 for free, am I eligible for the redux discount?

Edit: Yes I am! Just checked! $12 is a great price for such a great game IMO. They deserve our support.

New video that has been blowing up on gaming sites lately. IMO this is a way to do a remastered version of a game! Not just the cookie cutter better graphics and slightly increased resolution.

Official Release date has been posted in OP.

Hundreds if not thousands of people crashing after the intro movie, don't even get to see the menu. So much for the hype.

I read most of that thread,It would appear most of them need to reinstall the OS from scratch and everything else,Some of them seem to be missing certain files that are needed for the game to play,Either that or they are using so much overlay GPU /CPU tools that conflict with the drivers install (Ie MSI AfterBurner,Tools like that)
As for REDUX I would get it but i still haven't finished the Original one,It scares the poop out of me too much to play it.

Ya know, if that many people get told to "Reload your OS", there's a problem with the game.

Turns out the games require SSE4.1 and will crash on CPUs that don't have it. All because 4A didn't have older(65nm Core2 and all pre-bulldozer AMD ones) rigs, so they didn't bother to test it.

Did anyone try Metro LL Redux? Is it worth upgrading for our VGA bench suite?

I ran the benchmark, it has some extra effects (tracers, flares, etc) here and there but it's mostly the same as the original Metro LL. It's not like Metro 2033 vs 2033 Redux where the changes are more evident.

More worthwhile to do the Metro 2033 Redux probably.

Replace Metro Last Light with Metro 2033 Redux ?

No, i think he means that the graphic difference is more evident between Metro 2033 vs Metro 2033 Redux, Metro LL is already pretty close graphically to Metro LL Redux.

I ran the MLL bech and MLL Redux bench.

both: DX11 (option only available in MLL),res: 1920x1080, quality: very high, SSAA: off, Tesselation: off, V-Sync: off (option only available in MLL Redux), Motion blur: normal, Adv. PhysX: off .

MLL: avg. FPS 72
MLL Redux: avg. FPS 82

PC: i7 2600 (stock), R280x, 8gb ram...

More than try, I bought it and it is amazing! It is beauty plus a good story (plus ***ing your pants!) I left Metro2033 unfinished, too slow for me.
Didn't know there is a benchmark inside. I think it is a graphical challange so it would fit in your tests.
If it was 80% outside daylight and 20% tunnels it would be game of the century for me :)

Using KingPing's settings
Metro Last Light Redux benchmark:
Average Framerate: 44.00
Max. Framerate: 149.23
Min. Framerate: 22.55

Metro 2033 Redux: is it worth it over Metro 2033?

I have the original Metro 2033 and like the game a lot. I also own and like Last Light, possibly even more than 2033. However I looked at some videos and comparison between Metro 2033 Original and Metro 2033 Redux and I liked the way the original looked more than the redux, not sure why.
