I was talking about the 3600 vs. the 2700X. The 2700 should be excellent for crunching, as is my 1700.

Now hoping for a Black Friday Deal on some memory, and then it's on! 16 cores Crunching for about half the cost of 12 cores in my T-3500 Xeon cruncher's. Plus 4.1 vs. 3.3 GHz!

The cost is more to build, about twice as much, but the cost savings on powering it 24/7 should pay for that in under a year.

I'm Happy! Step one in the Crunching Farm make over!

Brilliant mate So when can I expect you pulling away from me even faster then?? The cost savings are crazy, there's no doubt there Even my 1700X running at completely stock settings I don't see much more pull from the full system than 180w.. That said, it's with a RX 480, old HD drive, running with 850w PSUs They are seriously lovely CPUs

I've asked my mate in the US to grab me a pair if he can....

I'd also say that I've seen whilst crunching that 16Gb might be a little low as well.. I've noticed on a few occasions now that my Ryzen 1700X's have eaten away at 16Gb for crunching, I've recorded a low of 1% free on both machines a few times now.. That's slightly concerning!!

Yeah, I could pick up a 9900K or KS, but that's end of the line here, and I'd need a new cooler to go with, as my 125W tower cooler probably wouldn't cut it.

The MC here has 8700K occasionally for open box for $230 you could wait around for one to appear, then you wouldn't have to part out the entire system, just the 9600K, which are worth between $150 to $200 on eBay. Not as great a deal as an 8 core/16 thread for $130, but you would be able to keep the motherboard you have now.

I am considering T-Force but, I am going for a 3200 or 3600 since this Cruncher is going to be a part-time gamer, also (syntax in that sentence doesn't feel right, too tired to try an fix it).

I have been eye-balling their stuff for 2 days now. I saw in a youtube video they are having a "Thanksmas" deal on. I need to check my new board for compatibility, should be fine, and may need to get the 3200 and XMP-it up to 3600.

Just looked it up on Team Group's website. 3200 on my board. I am digging the T-Force Night Hawk. I will have to check the measurements, but I think these would fit.

Still gonna wait until post Thanksgiving.
