I need to upgrade my main HTPC and want something that can handle some decent gaming at 1080P. Currently plan is Z170/i5 and I have a 16GB DDR4 2800 kit.

Part I need help choosing I want the smallest case that will fit a fury nano (mini itx) sized graphics card. I want small small.

well ... not sure about having a powerbox HTPC ... but in my case a simple i3-4130T 8gb 1600 C9 and a 750Ti was able to produce some decent 1080p gaming at high settings (mostly Skyrim and some other of my steam library )

why not going Skylake i3 8gb 2800 C14 and a itx 1060 it's more than enough for 1080p depending the games, specially if you want to do a USFF rig (my Alpha is a USFF) all in a Elite 110 with a normal ATX psu, you can do a ... mini subwoofer sized rig (i got some funny comment about some Elite 110 build i did for some friends livingroom ... aka: "oh nice, i didn't know Coolermaster did a 7.1 surround kit, but ... why the satellites are B.O.S.E ?" )

the base you build ... is more a 1440p or a 1080p overkill xD even with a fury nano
to replace my Alpha i have in plan either a Gigabyte Brix (smaller and with a AMD APU and R9 275M) which is still enough for 1080p gaming or do a Coolermaster Elite 110 with a itx gpu (either a 1060 or a fury nano) but with a H150 or 170 and a i3

I just said nano sized I don't know if that's the card I'm ending up with. The board will end up being free so the plan is to splurge a little on the cpu. I'm hoping to sneak a radiator in there as well to try and keep noise down, but that's not required at all if the case can be shrunk that's first.

The SilverStone RAVEN Series RVZ01B and Ncase M1 are the smallest commercially available cases that I know of. Both were out of my price range so I got the very cheap DIY branded Raijintek Metis for very cheap. The Ncase M1 is designed to hold a thin 240mm radiator. The Metis can hold a 120mm radiator barely, or a 240mm radiator with modification. The Raven is probably the best HTPC case though.

I actually thought about doing the metis. I don't know how much I like the raven I have built a couple in that case at work.

If you are considering the metis, take a look at some of the photos at overclock.net. They have a fairly active club.

I am sidegrading my metis from a full size atx psu to an sfx psu right now. I am doing this so I can fit more storage inside the case, and open up the possibility of larger GPU's. With the atx psu I could not fit a gpu larger than the Nano. I want to mod my metis and put some ventilation holes at the top, but have not gotten around to it.

I have an sfx450w I can use which from what I'm looking size wise should allow me to stuff a res there

This one is sexy

So I am thinking that with a GTX1060/RX480/470 with a waterblock, EKWB on the CPU and a 120mm rad. Haven't decided pump and res combo I have a laing D5 and could probably squeeze that in.

I mean this is just perfect looking IMO

Silverstone Sugo Series SG05BB-lite

Takes an SFX Power supply You could probably get a R9 Nano in it

I did a build with the sg05b and still have the case actually. I was not a huge fan of the internals of it, did they change anything with the lite?

I actually had dual 120mm rads and a water-cooled gtx470 in it lol

Not sure what the Lite version is. I also have a 120mm rad in mine

Lite is the exact same, just sans original (80+ Bronze I think) PSU. If you don't like the layout then I guess the SG13 is out of the running too.

May I refer you to the SFF thread over on ocn http://www.overclock.net/t/1300645/official-usff-sff-club has a lot of cases, many of which are no longer being produced, but it gives you a general idea of the volume limit of having a full height, dual slot PCIe card (~10L).

I've heard about the Jonsbo V3 before (evidently there is a V3+ now) and it fits the bill with the Nano (but perhaps not the 1060 unless maybe if you choose the EVGA version) but WC is out of the question. If you want to go WC without much hassle, then the Ncase M1 seems to be a good fit, but it is expensive.

I've seen some gorgeous 240mm rad SG08 mods, but needless to say it will take a lot of work, and the SG08 is heavy enough without WC equipment.

The Lite does not have a PSU included yea that's it

The beer is not a lite version

That is an interesting one it isn't much bigger than the Raijintek, but it clears a mATX board which means I could use the spare GB X99m I have and go that route...thank you for that one now you have me thinking. I would also save not going water and going with just a T4 or something along those lines, just run a cheap xeon 6 core low power chip...hmmm

Back when I got mine those were $70, which refused to pay when there was this $40 knock off brand. They only sell black and it seems you want the blue. Thought I would link anyways.

I was actually looking for them, I may go black I just grabbed the blue because my wife liked the color.

I was actually looking at this case as well with the thought of a laptop blu-ray drive, but it stupidly only allows a single slot GPU.

well i crash in again .... look why i love the Elite 110 ...

okay? nano sized HTPC ;) the only thing that is more compact than that is a Alpha or a NUC based box

not only a Nano but even a full card ... that one is not USFF ;) i crammed a GTX 670 reference in one of these .

I built quite a lot into mine lol

That build you just showed was inspiration for some other builds of mine a few years back.

Silverstone FT03-mini...got one of those...lovely case...only one fan at the bottom...pushes the naturally rising heat out the top of the case

You have no idea how frustrated I am that the board died.

For years now I have wanted to make my own ITX or mATX case but have not had the resources, tools, or time to do it. I want to build it around my 80mm thick 240mm monsta radiator. That thing was able to keep a 4.8ghz 3930k and two overclocked 7970's under 70c. I could have added more to the loop, but still, that is a lot of heat.

Here is a horrible sketch up concept of what I want to do.

Ha I was just reading that review. I may just use steam streaming and build another basic box with the Antec ISK110. I am really hoping they release a skylake desktop chip with iris pro.
